Onri
Actuals: http://www.kinobusiness.com/kassovye_sbory/weekend/2016/17.07.2016/usd/ Finally good news for Ice Age. It had nice Monday hold and sold more tickets on OW than Panda and Angry Birds, though i think it had more show times. Incredibly close openings btw, #70, #71 and #72 all time. Ice Age was the only one opened in school vacation, so it's OD and first monday were more than other two combined. But it had noticeably softer Saturday and Sunday. Onri
After weak start of Ice Age and Warcraft left top15 it's time update all time best lists. Admissions today. It's rarer data, we have only one source that give the list actually. But it doesn't include prior to 2007 movies and has too many mistakes. So I won't even give link for it. I updated thread Top 10 grossing films per country (Excluding US/Canada). Records for Star Trek franchise & Woody Allen and huge opening for Lights Out. Not so good hold for Ice Age. But 1 billion rubles is still possible. Onri
No significant changes in WEEKEND ACTUALS. Star Trek Beyond average ticket price was 298,6 ₽ what actually a bit lower than Into Darkness had in 2013: 299 ₽. That seems quite weird with all the inflation and ER fall that we gone through in last 3 years. In dollars differents is more than 2 times: 4,7$ for Beyond and 9,5$ for Into Darkness. So Star Trek Beyond grossed 218M ₽ (+13% to Into Darkness) with 730K admissions (+13%) at 44K show times (+42%) but only 3.5M$ (-44%). Cafe Society set new Woody Allen record with 36M ₽ / 0,56M$. And had better per show average than Star Trek at 5,7K show times. But I think more remarkable for Allen this weekend was that 3 his films finished in top40. I can't imagine any other director (including local) had 3 running films simultaneously, but only Juni can say if there was this situation before. Anyway Woody Allen achieved this without special releases, his movies just still in theaters: Magic in the Moonlight (96 weeks) and Irrational Man (50 weeks). For compare: even Zootopia left theaters after 18 weekends, and it was rather long run by local standards. Lights Out grossed 108M ₽ / 1,7M$ at 14K show times. That was best per show average this weekend and only 6% lower than The Conjuring 2 OW. Ice Age: Collision Course finished at #2 (-52%) with 2,8M$ weekend and 11,2M$ total. 1 billion rubles is still not locked. Collision Course is -33% in rubles, -50% in admissions and - 67% in $ to Dawn of the Dinosaurs and -35%, -36% and -66% to Continental Drift through the same point. Onri
Anyone interested in our tiny multipliers? I calculated several, only for 200M₽+ openings of 2016. Ice Age: Collision Course and Star Trek Beyond just started their run and were not included. Last year we had 2 or 3 movies with 3+ multipliers, but none 4+. This year also Dirty Grandpa did 3.05 with less than 100M₽ start. The Hateful Eight has 3.01 but that's with previews which were only 11% less than OW, so i won't count it. 3 is outstanding multiplier for Russia. Don't forget that we have 4-days OW. MULTIPLIER Movie Rank OW rank Notes 4.00 (f) Zootopia yearly 1 yearly / OW 4 / 569M One of the best since Avatar 3.00 (e) The Crew (local) 3 8 / 501M Some holidays help but still great 2.79 (e) Finding Dory 18 19 / 214M - 2.65 (e) The Legend of Tarzan 19 22 / 205M LOL Lucky date 2.55 (f) Kung Fu Panda 3 9 13 / 372M - 2.54 (f) Ivan Tsarevich 3 (local) 13 16 / 295M 3-days OW, 10 holidays run 2.52 (e) Alice 2 16 17 / 261M Great since it opened along Warcraft 2.47 (f) The Jungle Book 5 5 / 548M - 2.30 (e) Now You See Me 2 8 9 / 465M First monday was holiday 2.29 (f) 2.16 (e) 2.15 (f) 2.09 (f) 2.01 (f) 1.98 (e) 1.97 (e) 1.83 (f) 1.76 (f) 1.71 (f) 1.57 (f) Gods of Egypt Warcraft The Revenant The Angry Birds Movie Divergent 3: Allegiant Independence Day 2 TMNT2 Deadpool Captain America: CW X-Men: Apocalypse Batman v Superman 12 4 6 11 22 20 17 2 7 15 10 14 / 329M 2 / 683M 7 / 516M 11 / 375M 21 / 211M 18 / 226M 15 / 315M 1 / 964M 3 / 621M 10 / 417M 6 / 530M - Much better than expected Nice for 4-holidays opener - - - - OW record, so not so bad Horrible.
