juni78ukr
Maleficent went up to 450 mln Rub or $13.05 mln Almost the same opening weekend as Oz (450.6 mln RUB). And once again exchange rates create the difference here. Oz had $14.72 mln OW 55.1 mln RUB or $1.6 mln Neighbors. Well below expectations.

Jake Gittes
'Under my skin' is pushed back again to July 31 this time I've been told by a friend that because Top Film Distribution is a Kiev-based company, they are being refused distribution rights in Russia. Hence the delays. I don't know if it's true, but it sounds logical (and disgusting) enough for the environment we're currently in.

rockNrollaDIM
Are those strong weekdays for Maleficent in Russia? Hope it has good legs.
juni78ukr
Not bad. Will be only 3rd movie to pass billion RUB this year after Viy and Noah. Kinometro even predicts that it can beat Edge of Tomorrow. Others disagree, though. School holidays in Russia and other post-soviet countries begin much earlier than in US or rest of the Europe.
Fullbuster
I hope HTTYD2 can be a huge hit in Russia :DDOFP and Maleficent have been great here so it should be fine.Apparently the terrible economy didn't hit the Russian consumers too much. Rudolf
Even factoring in exchange rate problems, Russia is one of only a few places where Maleficient did not make substantially more than SWatH. Any ideas why?
