IndustriousAngel
Fantastic weekend, nearly everything had an increase from last week! And look at "Intouchables", +69% and back on place 9!

Side fact: 5YearEngagement opened on nr.2 in Austria. "Snow White" and "Chernobyl Diaries" show better legs than expected, Intouchables (in its 28th week) and "The Raid" managed to crack the Top 10. And the Ice Age franchise is simply a monster; as Rudolf mentioned much of the success is thanks to a very popular set of german voice actors. This week, "The Lorax" is the only big opener. With Ice Age dominating the kiddie-business I would be surprised if it will get more than 200k admissions which might just be enough for nr.

lab276
only 12k admissions to top25 since 1968It did more than twice that this weekend alone. I didn't think it had a chance at beating Finding Nemo and it's still an outside chance, but if continues like this, it'll do it.

IndustriousAngel
Really intouchable - eh, incroyable :)IA4 looked a lot better on Friday but Sunday was extremely bad for nearly everything (except Intouchables and 5YE which are not weekend-films). The Lorax was also lower than I expected, 200k would have been good, 160k ok but 120k is really on the lowest end of expectations. Dr. Seuss is nearly unknown here, but Horton did better and with the environmental message the Lorax should definitely have done better. I guess IA4 was too much direct competition. Interesting how long "Chernobyl Diaries" manages to hang in there, fantastic legs for a horror film. The Lorax opened to the lowest end of expectations - in Austria a bit better, yet no big numbers. Today "The Dark Knight Rises" has it's first full day (many theaters had triple Batman shows yesterday); presales look promising but I noticed TDKR got less showings than TASM or IA4 during their respective openings; I don't follow the discussion about the US opening too closely but it seems as if the longer running time should at least be considered as an obstacle (box-office-wise that is). IndustriousAngel
Might do, opening day was very strong so I guess it depends on two factors: How much demand was burned during the opening days - and weather, as always . The german market really depends on lousy weather; though in the case of Blockbusters nice weather often only means admissions are "postponed" - so, weak weekend --> better legs. lab276
If it sells 1.2m over the weekend, how much would it be for the full week?
IndustriousAngel
I don't belive in 1.2mil ... 1.0 would be excellent and would push it somewhere north of 1.5mil. As I said, it doesn't get that many shows since IA4 is still going strong and they also need some screens for TASM, 5YE and Lorax. The nearly 3 hours are an obstacle.
