Among openers, Ant-Man was a little disappointing; Magic Mike XXL did much better than the first one (but from the 300k total it has now, 100k are from Wednesday Lady's Night shows … so expect rather short legs!). Kartoffelsalat did what teenie comedies are supposed to do, but seems to be dropping fast. Most holdovers had very soft drops - Minions are on their way to 6mil total (or more, there's no competition in its demo for the next weeks), Jurassic World should pass 4mil but it's not sure if it can catch 50SoG. Ted2 is still disappointing but not a total desaster, at least 1.1mil total! Terminator Genisys otoh is still far from that mark … Unfriended is having unusual holds for a horror thriller. And on ranks 15 and 19, there's two 2014 releases expanding once more with open air shows - Honig im Kopf will pass 7mil total this week, incredible run! Next weekend: Pixels are hitting Germany bit I doubt very much if they attract much more business than Ant-Man. At least they should land safely on #2; #1 is booked by the Minions.

Industrios, based on your projections, if Minions pass 6 mill in Germany how much is that in euro or USD?
IndustriousAngel
about 53mil € from Germany, ad 25% for Austria and Switzerland combined and that would be about 66mil € from those 3 countries, at the current exchange rate somewhere between 70 amd 75mil US$

IndustriousAngel
What total is expected for MI5? hmmm ... MI4 was at 1,5mil admissions total, far from a blockbuster - maybe with the Vienna opening there's a little more awareness this time round but I doubt if it can reach 2mil

Or is it more/less given the drop? I think it's a very good drop still but would love your input.
IndustriousAngel
Don't judge movies by week-to-week drops, especially family stuff - they go down and up with weather. Next weekend should be very sunny too so steep drops should happen, but family movies might also see increases when it turns rainy. I still think 6mil admissions total is very probable and 6,5mil possible.

IndustriousAngel
yep, nobody expected much of Ant-Man but it'll probably end up as the least successful MCU movie here. Somehow they gave up on this marketing-wise from the start (compare how good GotG did last year, that was a completely unknown property, too!) But the MCU movies are far from blockbusters anyway; the most successful ones were Avengers 1 and 2 which both missed 2,5mil admissions (the other MCU movies were below 2)

Pixels is no flop but that's not a good number either. Paper Towns did ok, let's see if it can expand a bit. Holdovers: Minions sailed past 5mil total and should see a good hold next weekend once more (In Austria, Minions have crossed 600k admissions, the "Platinum Ticket", as the first 2015 release). Magic Mike XXL managed a very good hold (but from deflated weekend numbers). Ant-Man is crumbling and with MI5 on the horizion will be short-lived. Jurassic World will hit 4mil but 50SoG's 4,4 are out of reach. And farther back in the charts, the long-legged crowd-pleasers do fantastic numbers, mainly on open air screens! Look at the PTA of QecqoafaBD! And congratulations to Honig im Kopf, now past 7mil total! Where will it stop? Next weekend: Mission Impossible 5 is by far the biggest opener and will replace Minions at the Top; the yellow buggers should stay safely on #2 though. As counter-program, Radcliffe starrer Horns might attract some business but if it makes it into the Top5 it'll be lucky.
