el sid
And Dirty Grandpa had again 55k admissions (still #8 of the charts) this weekend! Which means that it will have earned around 10.6M US$ in Germany this Monday (the best result OS by far). With no end in sight. Must be a special phenomenon ;). I saw several trailers in front of other films and thought that this could work with a lot of beer but the reviews from moviegoers are only mediocre too...So where does this great WOM come from? But as a fan of most of DeNiro's films I accept it ;). PS: The estimated results of some other fims with under 100k admissions: Allegiant (week #2): 70k / 250k total London has Fallen (week #3): 62.5k / 280k Greek Wedding 2 (NEW): 60k / 67.5k Deadpool (week #7): 52.5k -> 2590k The Revenant (week #12): 27.5k / 2735k Edited March 28, 2016 by el sid
Aristis
Great for Zoomania! 330K admissions (Cume 2.3M) mean only a 3% drop! It had nearly 200k in midweek, maybe it's able to top that or come close to it - this week should be Holiday everywhere. With a good hold it could be at 2.75M after next sunday (~25$) and in two weeks it could get over 3M.
Aristis
BvS with 630.432 admissions over the weekend. A bit up from the estimate, probably a good sign. Zoomania with 2.311.969 admissions cume. SW won't hit 9M admissions. In its 14th week it had 8.589 admissions for a total of 8.953.518. Kind of depressing that it is that slim... But it's an great result! It will probably end at €101,9M. It will miss $110M.

But it's going to overtake EP1 which has 8.962.516 admissions as the best performing Star Wars movie. If someone had told me this 2 years ago, I wouldn't have believed them.

I was hoping for more from BvS (at least a 1000 PTA) but the opening is ok, especially if you remember MoS. MBFGW2 did a little better than I expected; that one is about the legs anyway. Among holdovers, Dirty Grandpa surprised with an increase, and The Revenant had another fine drop. Zootopia stayed near flat and with some more strong holidays should hit 3,5mil total. (Revenant and Deadpool will miss 3mil …). Last week's openers KFP3 and Allegiant are near disasters. Next weekend: No big releases, distributors were cautious - so most holdovers should see nice drops; I'm hoping for 30% or better from BvS, and nice numbers from family stuff (at least Friday seems to be rather rainy)
Aristis
Anne Frank had the worst drop in the Top 20 I think this result is really unexpected and a bit disappointing... Great for Zoo! Bad for Room... Its Oscar Win doesn't really help.

Great for Zoo! Bad for Room... Its Oscar Win doesn't really help. Maybe because of the Easter holidays which started in most of the federal states on Monday. So no school classes on Thursday and Friday. For example at mathäser, they canceled all evening and afternoon shows after one week and it had only daily shows at 11am. Plus it could have lost a lot of of theaters as BOM claims (-205). But according to insidekino and filmstarts it still has 380 or 383 copies. But either way the film had very few playtimes last week because of the bad average. Room's topic is probably just too dark to attract many people. Without the Oscar and the very good reviews almost nobody would have seen it. I don't know what to do with 10 Cloverfileld Lane. Good presales for today but very bad ones for the weekend. WOM has to spread fast. At least the reviews from critics and sneak-moviegoers are very good. I'm interested.
IndustriousAngel
Room is fantastic, really powerful film (I gave it 8/10). But definitely not stuff for everybody, it's no crowdpleaser even though it ends on a high note and is basically affirmative of life and humanity. I'm curious if "Le Goût des merveilles" can expand a bit more ... the PTA is going down since OW but if it can keep adding screens and/or showtimes it might have a chance at 500k total, super multiplier for something that opened to >100 theaters. IndustriousAngel
First weekend trend, and it's an ugly one: #1: BvS - 250k admissions (-55%, ouch that hurts) #2: Zoo - 250k (-25%) #3: KFP3 - 100k (-25%) Among openers, surprisingly "Eddie the Eagly" is in front with 85k (don't know how many previews are included in this number but that's quite a good start)
Aristis
Hopefully BvS will go up a bit, good weather will hurt the family stuff more. -25% for Zoo would be quite good considering the temperatures on Sat/Sun (20°-25° in some regions) Summer comes ^^
IndustriousAngel
Friday update looks slightly better for the two leaders, 260k each ... yes, that's great for Zootopia, while for BvS it's still horrible

IndustriousAngel
That's really awful for BvS, MoS dropped 42% - ok, that was a very strong overall weekend with super drops all around, but with no competition, -53% is nearly a disaster. At least the opening was much higher so overall BvS will end up as one of the more successful DC adaptions - but it doesn't bode too well for the sequel(s)

I think in Germany there are seldom drops above 50% on the second weekend and if it's so then because of the weather. But Zoomania can hold much better and is a family movie so weather is not the issue. But yeah, in comparison to other countries it's good. Aristis
$35M for Zoo should be the goal now. Would require about 3.65M admissions which is really doable. Should be at 2.75M now. Batman v Superman should land between $20M and $25M which would be far more than MoS ($9,8M) did.
