Aristis
It will probably have a higher OW (admissions) in Italy than in Germany It could still have a weekend of $9M and probably more than $30M finish. In Germany it's often about legs. I hope the falling trend isn't because of bad WOM but because of not being a movie that targets families that much... 800k is still great, what is so annoying is that no movie here breaks out as it does in countries like Britain... Maybe Sunday evening will be stronger than prediced now and it can at least top 847.356 (FSOG2)... miketheavenger
Maybe it's because the original animated BatB isn't quite as iconic here as it is in the US and the UK? I don't know for sure, it's just a guess.
George Parr
I don't know about that. Beauty and the Beast was a solid hit in the USA, but hardly out of the ordinary. It finished 3rd of the year 1991 with 145m, Aladdin won the next year with 217m. In Germany, BatB won the year (1992 in this case) with a bit above 5m admissions, though it was one of the weakest years of that time. Aladdin finished second with 6.4m admissions the year afterwards. Sounds all rather similar, if not favourable to Germany. Emma Watson does add quite a bit of attention, particularly in the UK. She is among the very top when it comes to followers on social media, I think. That doesn't have as much of an impact in Germany.
Brainbug
I obviously cant speak for the whole country but for example my parents watched the original BatB in theaters and love it to this day but they have no interest whatsoever in seeing the new film. Maybe a lot of people just arent that excited about these live-action remakes here than in countrys like the US and UK. That said, 800k would still be a good start.
titanic2187
may not be as insane as in UK and US, but still an impressive debut
Aristis
So Disney says it made $10,7M OW. If that's correct and its Ticket Price is 10,5 and XR is about 1,075 than BatB should have made more than 900k, more like 950k... I hope this number is rather too low like it is in the US
IndustriousAngel
about 865k is the reported number, so at least best 2017 OW so far. Surprisingly good holds this weekend despite the big opener; especially B&T4 which is reported with 160k, that would be just a 14% drop and that in face of direct competition from Beauty! In Austria, Beauty had a big opening too, but not as good as in Germany.
George Parr
To give all numbers reported so far: 1. BatB 865k 2. Kong - Skull Island 200k 3. Bibi & Tina 160k 4. Logan 120k 5. Die Häschenschule 90k 6. FSoG 2 75k 7. Moonlight 65k So everything either up or at least steady from the last trend
Aristis
Great drop for Kong! (-29%/-32%) I think Godzilla had nearly a 60% drop in its 2nd weekend (that's a huge drop in Germany, much more than it is in the US). Logan falls a bit harder with about 40%. FSOG2 too >40%. Great for Moonlight too! Without previews it equals its OW (included it's down 20%) And this weekend is about 40% above last year Edited March 20, 2017 by Aristis

Actually, there were two fine openers, as Die Häschenschule found ist audience, too - no small feat with all that family stuff in theaters! For us Austrians, it's nice seeing Wilde Maus chugging on with a fine PTA again! And a little surprise in the lowest quarter of the chart: Moana is not yet dead, an increase against in-house competition! What it lacked in opening, it made up in legs. Next weekend: Two medium-sized hollywood releases - Power Rangers and Life - will probably fight for #2 behind Beauty, although I wouldn't disown Kong after this week's good drop. And domestic stoner comedy Lommbock might see some success with no direct competition from anything - Top10 should be possible in any case. So, another strong weekend in the making!
el sid
The Thursday estimates (insidekino.de/forum): New releases: Rammstein: Paris: 61k (a German band's concert recording, only today I think) Life: 14k (starts in 470 theaters, good reviews) Power Rangers 11.5k (427, mediocre reviews) Lommbock : 14k (the sequel of a pretty popular comedy 16 years ago: Lammbock, 241, mediocre and good reviews) Holdovers: BatB: 44k (100k) Kong: 8k (17.5k) – probably again underestimated Logan: 7.5k (15k) FSD: 4k (9k) Moonlight: 4.5k Wilde Maus: 4k Everything not overwhelming but I would say in line with expectations.
el sid
The first trend from insidekino.de: #1 BatB: 600k #2 Lommbock: 155k (had more previews that's why it is in front) #3 Life and Power Rangers: 125k #5 Skull Island: 100k We will see if the order of the Top 5 stays like that. Counted without the previews of the new releases Kong could stay #2 especially if it improves a little bit like last weekend. Some Thursday actuals (source Blickpunkt:Film): New releases: Rammstein: Paris: 45k – I was wrong, it has also showtimes today (and gets a third day next week) but often around 5pm or very late in the evening, so this shouldn't hurt other films much Life: 15.5k Power Rangers: 12.5k Lommbock: 12.5k Holdovers: BatB: 60k – so clearly underestimated yesterday Kong: no numbers but with an projected weekend of 100k admissions it were definitely more than 8k Edit: Only to prepare you: I wouldn't bet on any improvement of numbers because I saw the weather forecast a few minutes ago. Today it's mixed but the weekend is predicted to be pretty sunny. Edited March 24, 2017 by el sid

I hope that 30%-drop won't get worse so it can have at least 1,7M admissions on Sunday... Edited March 24, 2017 by Aristis

Aristis
3rd Trend: BatB 525k (-40%) I feared it could get worse... Still OK, good for the circumstances I think 1,6M - 1,7M cume.
