The German BO is breaking records … in the negative sense. Horrible weekend, only 10 releases >10k admissions and none in the 6-digits range. Wes Anderson getting the highest PTA with Asteroid City is not a sign of Germany's good taste in movies but of empty seats everywhere else. Austria is not faring much better atm. The Flash is maybe not an outright flop but severely underperforming …

Next weekend: Elemental and No Hard Feelings are the big openers but the times when any new Pixar movie was an instant hit are long over, and I don't see the romcom doing much better … against summer weather, expect another disaster weekend but hopefully at least one of the openers can do a 6-digits OW.

Another boring weekend - the wide openers on #1 and #2 (Elemental surpassed my low expectations), that's about all that happened this weekend.

Austria didn't fare much better, everything a little higher as usual but not by much - nearly identical numbers for the Top5.

Next weekend:One big opener, the 5th Indiana Jones movie. #1 will be no problem going by presales but I'd be surprised if it cracked a 500k OW. At least, there will be an uptick in general business …

A better weekend, thanks to worse weather and a new #1, though Indiana Jones 5's OW is really disappointing. Elemental had a fine increase and is now at a total it should have had past OW … sigh. The same goes for No Hard Feelings. The Flash managed a 37% drop on such a weekend, incredibly bad.

In Austria, a similar OW for Indy, but Elemental was much stronger than in Germany and was in fact #1 for the weekend (by admissions)!

Next weekend: I don't know about Germany but Mission Impossible 7 is opening on Saturday in Austria and should win the weekend (don't know if those numbers will be counted for that weekend or the one after which was the original OW …). Other releases: Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir for the kids (previews went well, will put quite a dent in other family releases), Love Again and Insidious: The Red Door (should do ok, no other horror in theaters atm). opening in Germany: Griechenland, an Austrian blockbuster from earlier this year which might see some success in southern Germany. With all those new releases, Indy is in for a steep drop I fear …

I always had this question if MI7 opening on Saturday will be taken into 9-Days Weekend or not. Several Countries like Indonesia and Australia has the same settings. "A standard Saturday OD Opening"

yep, let's see ... and Saturday as OD is strange indeed, why not go all the way but halfway trough the WE?!

Elemental dropping to 95k a drop way over 50%, not good though mostly because of the nice weather.

with the good opening of Lady Bug/Catnoir and fine weather that was to be expected I think; might be bounce back with rainier weather again. Obviously still awful for a Pixar movie but that has been the trend for a few years now ...
