The average ticket price last year was 7.39 Euros, so 29.56m Euros (it should be higher than this in the end). Based on today's exchange rate, it would be $38.3m.

That was a surprisingly steep drop for MAD3, didn't expect it to lose the weekend ... and plain horrible numbers for Asterix. Might be the end of Asterix as a real-life franchise since the french numbers are nearly as bad. Local comedies on #4 and #5 both better than expected.

Good opening for PA4, bad for Asterix, "Hope Springs" leggy again. "Die Wand" had no expansion, very good PTA again. MAD3 had a steep drop and is now trailing IA4 by nearly 18mil$ - at the same point in its run, IA4 had already crossed 50mil.

This weekend, some small local horror films try to jump the Halloween bandwagon, plus three semiwide openings: German bestseller adaption "Die Vermessung der Welt", "Hotel Transsylvania" and "Tom und Hacke", a bajuvarian retelling of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. The widest opening is "Bachelorette" ... strange that Hotel Transsylvania doesn't get more screens. MAD3 could win the weekend!

... and MAD3 will not only win the weekend but stay nearly flat at 300k admissions if the Friday trend is right. HT not far behind (275k); the battle for #3 is on between PA4, opener "Die Vermessung der Welt" and Taken2.

2nd trend, no changes so far; good holds nearly everywhere. Bachelorette was not attractive; will end up behind "Hope Springs" in week 5
