I have no interest in the guy but he keeps finding his audience, same as Sandler :)I'm most interested in how "Cloud Atlas" will play ... Tom Tykwer and Tom Hanks each have a fanbase in Germany but the film is definitely not for mainstream audiences it seems (will have to judge myself). atm presales are maybe 20% of Skyfall, doesn't look too bright.

First weekend trend for Germany:Skyfall 850k (another very strong hold, about 35%), Cloud Atlas opens to about 250k (meh but not a complete disaster), Tinkerbell and Kevin james battle for #3 with about 150k and HT on #5 down do 90k.

Sure, today is BD-double feature day, starting from 3pm the 4 biggest screens at my theater are each about 70% full with twilight fans atm (yet no sellouts) and the "official" opening on Wed has good presales too, so 007 should be pushed from the throne next week but I suspect BD2 will be as strawfiery as its predecessors and the week after it will fall behind Skyfall.

It is ... today, as a double feature with BD1. Plus there were some Twilight marathons the days before. So, it's a bit like a staged release, and Wednesday is the first day where you can get tickets for BD2 alone.
