Brazil Box Office Thread

Hey Koro, yesterday one of my friends posted this on Facebook and I thought maybe you would like it:

"Economic growth looks relatively healthy in North and South America, according to a basket of forecasts compiled by engineering and infrastructure consulting firm WorleyParsons.

While Europe is in the doldrums and growth in Asia slows, the Americas are expected to expand, according to a consensus of opinion from the International Monetary Fund, Latin Focus, Trading Economics, BBVA, Focus Economics, JP Morgan, and the Royal Bank of Montreal.

              2014   2015

Colombia 4.6% 4.8%

Chile 4.6% 5%

Costa Rica 3.7% 4.3%

Mexico 2.9% 3.5%

Panama 7% 6.5%

Peru 5.5% 4.9%

U.S. 2.3% 3.3%

Canada 2.3% 2.0%

Argentina -0.7% -1.0%

Brazil 1.3% 1.6%

Venezuela -0.5% -1.0%

The data was part of a presentation by John Pauling, vice president of transportation for WorleyParsons, at a port industry conference in Tampa.

It suggests that trade within the United States and Latin America will also grow modestly, considering that almost two-thirds of global Gross Domestic Product is based on trade."

Thanks Henry :) However these numbers are weird, particularly for Venezuela and Brazil.

It's confirmed : Venezuela's GDP lost 3% in 2014 and is expected to lose 7% in 2015. Brazil grew by 0.2% in 2014 is expected to grow by 0,3% in 2015 (the Brazilian government expects 0.8% but it's too optimistic) so maybe these forecasts hav been made several months ago.

Latin America grew by 1.3% in 2014 and is expected to grow by 2.2% in 2015, it's slow for such a region but it's mainly because of Brazil, Venezuela and Argentina given the other nations are relatively dynamic.

Apart from that it's fine, the US grew by 2.4% in 2014 by the way and the IMF expects +3.6% in 2015 ;) (it's huge for a developed nation)

Barcelona in 15th place!!! Awesome!!!! :bravo: better than Madrid :P

I knew you would say that :P

Paris is 23rd so this is why you don't see it, this city is really stepping back in so many ways...

I'm surprised to see a US city in the top 10, New York really improved in the last 20 years, it's unbelievable!

Tokyo 1st is not a surprise, Japan is such a peaceful place with so nice people.

Thanks Henry :D

It's quite a slow weekend this time, Penguins will probably end between 17m-20m, my forecasts were right about this one :P

So Exodus will end around $24m, it's really not bad at all.

BH6 already out of the top 10 :(

Night at the Museum 3 is the highest-grossing movie of the franchise now :)

$14m is impressive for Loucas pra Casar, a rarely occuring good performance for a local movie. For people interested :
