Brazil Box Office Thread

Recommended Posts

Those good old times when Spider-Man was leading the box office!! ;-)

The comparison with TASM2 is a bit unfair, the first Spiderman movie was the only one comicbook movie at this time and people were very excited about that, it was rare and there was no competition. TASM2 is in a very competitive environment with many different superheroes, Spiderman is just one superhero among many others.

It's from the link of Goffe Rises. But indeed you're right he gave no sources...Even if I don't think someone would take the trouble to make these stats up I'll need to wait his answer before putting that on the first page!

-May : TASM2, Godzilla and Maleficent

-June : How To Train Your Dragon 2 + World Cup 2014 (we'll talk about it too, that will be fun even if I'm quite ignorant about soccer ^^)

About Olympic Games expected in 2016 in Rio :

Rio Olympic preparations "worst" ever

(Reuters) - International Olympic Committee (IOC) vice president John Coates has called Brazil's preparations for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games "the worst" he has ever seen and critically behind schedule, but warned there was no "plan B" to find another host.

Attending an Olympic forum in Sydney, Coates told delegates that construction had not commenced on some venues, infrastructure was significantly delayed and water quality was also a major concern two years out from the Games.

"I think this is a worse situation than Athens," said the Australian, referring to preparations for the 2004 Games, which were plagued by construction delays.

"In Athens, we were dealing with one government and some city responsibilities. Here, there's three.

"There is little co-ordination between the federal, the state government and the city - which is responsible for a lot of the construction.

"And this is against a city that's got social issues that also have to be addressed; a country that's also trying to deal with the FIFA World Cup coming up in a few months.

"It's the worst that I've experienced."

It sounds exactly like previous host nations to me. I've been through to many of these "there is no way they will be ready on time" comments before big events to be fazed by them. Maybe one day a country will really screw up an event like this, but I'll believe it when I see it.

You're a persistent one  For now things go my way B)

Nothing goes your way until the games start. The whole "Sochi isn't ready" meme went on until the day it started, before quickly disappearing.

Let's say things should be fine for the Olympics, they still have 2 years.I'm more pessimistic for the world cup!
