By the way the OW of Dory in USD has been actualized : $8.8m instead of $7.1m, quite a jump! :oB)

Something weird by the way : the ER went from $1 = R$3.21 on June 30 to $1 = R$3.33 on July 6, it's a strange loss of value of the Brazilian currency after such a jump of its value through June. Not good for Dory, even worse for Ice Age 5!

Ice-Age-5-Collision-Course-Movie-2016-mo

Today in Brazil : Ice Age 5! It's a very important release because IA4 was really huge : it is the 2nd biggest animated movie in Brazil after Minions in local currency with R$97m.

IA5 will have a difficult time to beat IA4 given the strong competition from Dory but we'll see.

The local comedy Contrato Vitalício flopped with 184,000 admissions on OW. That's shocking. This group of comedians is very popular, their Youtube channel is huge with over 12M subscribers and its main star opened a comedy last year this same weekend with almost 500,000 admissions.

Internet celebrity and cinema aren't the same thing, YouTube and movies are different media.

Can't you just make a few charts instead of posting (useless) shares of random movies?

It's not useless, that will be added to the Latin America charts on page 1.

But I probably should limit this to the biggest movies I guess.

From now on I'm done with the list of movies for Latin America, there are too many movies and only the biggest should be added to the list so I will wait a few months to add Dory, Ice Age 5 and probably Pets/Ghostbusters/The Conjuring 2.

Quite an exciting weekend :

-Will it beat the OW record of animated movies now detained by Dory?

-Will it beat IA4's OW in admissions or local currency?

-Will Dory resist to this strong competition?

Can't wait to have more stats :D

Was Dory able to get OW record despite slightly lower admissions than Minions?

Yes, probably thanks to 2 things :

-Ticket inflation

-More adults seeing Dory (nostalgia) than Minions and these adults pay more expensive tickets than kids and students.
