Thursday previews will be accounted as a 4th day, not as part of OD.

Now...

(Drums)

$13.3M

Hard to make a prediction given the particular nature of the opening, let's wait until tomorrow, $65M puts Minions record on jeopardy, right now i see $55M-$60M

F***********ck!

PSA is higher than the one grossed by TFA, BvS and AoU on their midnights with more than half screens less. If this would be accounted as midnights would be the third best result ever (on PSA) only behind IW and CW! Whopping considering not just the screens but also the number of theatres and days of PS (7) compared to more than three weeks for the rest.

:ohmygod:

EDIT. Not sure but PSA would also be higher than CW's!

How has Pixar Coco been doing in home video sales and streaming down in Mexico?

P.S. IW and Coco both with over 20 million admissions if the ER had been at late 00s to early 10s level damn they would be over 100 million usd.

Coco has more admissions in Mexico than Domestic, I just realized that recently. (23M vs 22M)  China beats both though (34M). Amazing what difference can make the ER and tickets prices.

There's no official charts for any of those, but from what I could check at online sites, the DVD has sold well. It is much pricier than the average release, though.

$255M lc for I2, just a shy over Minions. We should be careful with the estimate, sunday is always the biggest day (except for the Top 3) and today is father's day, that means matinees and evening shows are being weaker than usual because of World Cup working as a better option to celebrate, specially right now that Mexico is playing against Germany.

No movie in Top 5 OW has failed to reach $700M ($35M+), although Minions and Age of Ultron had 4-Day openings which boosted their legs. Could I2 to keep that trend? It need a 2.76x multi, not bad considering the worst multi from a recent Pixar movie is 2.6x from Dory, all depend on wom, Jurassic World 2 (of which buzz feels pretty muted) and upcoming elections.

May be a shot for Pixar to claim for the first time the entire Top 3 animated.

JUNE 15-17 WEEKEND. INCREDIBLES 2: FIFTH HIGHEST OPENING OF ALL TIME AND BIGGEST FOR PIXAR; IT SMASHES HOLDOVERS.

Incredibles 2

- Records breakdown:

  • 5th highest opener of all-time
  • 2nd highest opening for an animation
  • 4th highest opening for Disney
  • Biggest Pixar opener
  • Biggest June opener

- Unfourtunately couldn't reach the Minions spot as 4th highest opener and biggest opening for an animation, fell off by a few millions but anyway this is huge, it beat previous Pixar record: Toy Story 3 (it took exactly 8 years!) by 20%.

- It's looking at anywhere between $600M-$700M, nothing locked yet, is fighting with JW2 to be 2nd highest grosser of the year, although in admissions is very likely to beat it.

Ocean's 8

- Good weekdays but the arrival of the super family stole it a lot of screens and audiences, with JW2 coming soon its biggest triumph will be pass $100M

Hereditary

- Stunning holds on weekdays, the best drop from a holdover this weekend, should go over $60M (those legs).

With superheroes and a nostalgic live-action this is how Disney has dominated the Top 10 openers of all-time; with 6/10 titles they're responsable for those massive lines at theatres the recent years, with Incredibles 2 they booted BvS out of this chart

    3-Day Opening
1 Avengers: Infinity War $463,300,000
2 Captain America: Civil War $351,538,816
3 Avengers: Age of Ultron $288,827,214
4 Minions $247,321,526
5 Incredibles 2 $237,180,000
6 Furious 7 $232,914,025
7 Fate of the Furious $226,500,000
8 Beauty and the Beast $224,844,471
9 Despicable Me 3 $224,060,000
10 Marvel's The Avengers $219,740,214

I don't think any of the remaining releases of this current year gets to join this club, but the 2019 brings us a lot of potential hits, and that's not counting Avengers 4. I see that potential on live-actions, particularly The Lion King, i'm conservative with Toy Story 4, could be another TS3 (massive hit) or another Ice Age 5/FD (disappointment)

Do you think Aladdin and Frozen 2 could join this club?
