Best second weekend ever topping Coco's second frame by 4%. Internal multi is on par with IW's but wknd-to-wknd drop was slightly worst. $1,450M-$1,480M final.

What is tickling me is that maybe, just maybe don't beat Coco in admissions or just passes it by a very little difference. Ticket price is just too high and I thought would stabilize this weekend but it isn't. Gives you an idea of how massive Coco was and if this doesn't beat it then I think Miguel will hold the crown for about the same time Titanic held it (10+ years)

The theater was almost empty at a 14.40 show, definitely not what I expected. So yeah, Coco will keep the admissions crown.

Carlangonz
MAY 03-05 WEEKEND. AVENGERS: ENDGAME BECOMES HIGHEST GROSSING MOVIE EVER IN LC BEATING INFINITY WAR. US AND LONG SHOT OPEN LAZY. Avengers: Endgame - Now has topped Infinity War as the highest grossing title ever in lc, is third in USD below Toy Story 3 and first Avengers and third in admissions behind Pixar’s Coco and Infinity War. - Second biggest second weekend ever going under Coco’s second frame ($206M) and 21.61% above Infinity War’s second weekend. - Should pass Toy Story 3 as highest grossing release in USD at some point between Tuesday and Wednesday. Admissions record is likely but not locked anymore, I’d say a 60/40. - Next weekend faces Detective Pikachu and a local comedy; the former targets families and the latter targets a female audience so it could see another 60%+ drop similar to Infinity War which had Overboard. Although recent Far From Home trailer could boost repeat viewings. Us -One of the lowest openings for a Jason Blum production, slightly under Get Out’s. We’ll see if has comparable legs. No Manches Frida 2 -Third local release in history that grosses $300M+ lc joining Nosotros Los Nobles ($340M) and No Se Aceptan Devoluciones ($600M). It’ll remain as third highest local grosser in both lc and admissions. # MOVIE WEEKEND % CHANGE TOTAL (MXN) TOTAL (USD) ADM. Coco sold 24.03M tickets during its run but that includes the admissions sold during the re-release on past November. If you only count admissions from the first run then the number to beat is 23.437M
Carlangonz
Spider-Man 3 adjusts around $626M lc which is the highest number for an Spidey title. Homecoming did $485M, could Far From Home give the jump and beat the Raimi's film? Insane if manages it. Coco getting flanked by Avengers movies on both side in the local currency list is funny. Mighty performance for an animated movie in a single territory, on par or probably more impressive than Frozen in Japan and Zootopia in China (and Coco wasn’t too shabby in China either)

Maybe not as beloved as in Japan but more than in many places. Shrek 2 was a monster and only the third movie to sell over 10M admissions after Titanic and first Spider-Man. Ice Age 3 was the movie that ended Titanic's long reign in admissions. Toy Story 3 was #1 all-time in lc beating the record before (Avatar) by 35%, the closest growth percentage-wise when comes to highest ever is Coco's jump from Avengers (33%).
