Purple Minion
Since the producing company (3Pas) is owned in part by Eugenio Derbez, I thought it would be considered as domestic. Thoughts? Edited May 6, 2017 by Purple Minion Pinche autocorrect

Thoughts? Eugenio co-created the company but is listed as an american company and i think their headquarters are in Santa Monica.

Carlangonz
¿COMO SER UN LATIN LOVER? UPDATE. On their second day of exhibition, the Eugenio Derbez's comedy made $36.1 lc ($1.9 MD) and also increased their number of screens to 3,479. Now, after two days has amassed $78.6 M lc ($4.1 MD). Seems like it fell short on prediction and will end the OW in the 105-115 M lc range. Edited May 7, 2017 by Carlangonz

Purple Minion
Carlangonz mentioned it lost many screens to HTBALL - which interestingly seem to be underperforming. Superhero movies are relatively immune to WOM in this market. Edited May 7, 2017 by Purple Minion
Carlangonz
Actually, is having a good reception. The good thing is that besides HTBALL is not facing any "real" competence until Pirates of the Caribean 5 arrives.

I remember AOU had humongous OW and cratered to 2x multi. Only CGI flicks seem to have legs in MX.
Carlangonz
MEXICAN BOX OFFICE. MAY 5TH-MAY 7TH. DERBEZ MAKES A TERRIFIC COMEBACK IN SUNDAY AND STARTS GREAT. Just yesterday i reported a step-down in 'How to be a Latin Lover?' on saturday and the OW forecast was of $105-$115 M lc but Mr. Derbez along with Salma Hayek in an unexpected way had an amazing jump on sunday making $59.3 M lc ($3.12 MD) and now record a huge $137.9 M lc OW ($7.29 MD) at 3,494 locations, just $10 M lc behind 'Instructions not Included' back in 2013. Why all went so unpredictable on saturday? Two names: Julio Cesar Chávez Jr and Saúl 'Canelo' Alvárez, the match on saturday night attracted a lot of people into their TV's instead to the theatres, but in sunday they had the perfect chance to go to see the comedy. One spot low we have the intergalactic heroes of Marvel; 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2' had a huge Wknd-Wknd drop of around 70% and made $47 M lc ($2.47 MD) and now their total cume is of $282 M lc ($14.8 MD). With three more holidays to come in next two weeks it should pass $350 M lc. Completing our Top 3 we have Toretto and Family; Fate of the Furious amassed $11 M lc ($570 KD) and after four weekends amount for $660 M lc ($34.7 MD). Definitely far from the $770 M of Furious 7. 4. Boss Baby. $347 K wknd/$22.6 M total 5. Koe no Katachi. $257 K wknd/$257 K total 6. The Shack. $121 K wknd/$2.4 M total 7. Colide. $110 K wknd/$110 K total 8. Smurfs: The Lost Village. $105 K wknd/$5.2 M total 9. Ozzy: Rápido y Peludo* $1.15 M total *Weekend results not available.
