$1.8M on Wednesday for TWOW, good enough for a $19.4M total. Fri could be huge, Sat will be impacted by Christmas' Eve.

Rogue One fell 70% this same weekend 6 years ago so anything o/u 50% for this one is a win.

Puss in the Boots may aim a $60M+ opening.

Anything else is pretty much go including Wakanda Forever which won't reach $700M in the end.

1B LC still on target?

It had similar drop to No Way Home.  It's Weekday was stronger but... Idk I am more in favour of 50-60% of NWH right now.

Softer Christmas than expected. Odds for 1B lc lengthened unless it pulls stellar weekdays again.

Yeah seems like a tight race to $1B for The Way of Water. January it's still clear and empty so it favours it.

This weekend doesn't really matter. NWH on same "dates" was ~155M. NWH did 590M+ after 25th DEC, A2 should be 525M+ surely IMO, possibly 600M+.

Thanks Shanks. There is a difference with Christmas 2021, as also pointed out by Deadline:

Quote

The market has been soft overall the past few weeks, with a focus on Christmas celebrations after two pandemic years during which audiences faced restrictions around the holiday. School vacations run until January 9 and the family audience should pick up after this weekend.
