this was obvious. There is nostalgia for the series but there is no where to go film wise (and Pattinson and Stewart wouldn't be caught dead returning anyway).

Actually, Meyers showed interest into making new books including one about Bella and Edward's child. So either she changed her mind by when Lionsgate reached her or the main trio didn't want to return. I don't think their first idea was reboot for TV when it's by miles the most popular IP they have distributed. Specially when now their biggest franchise makes only $400M worldwide. Don't get me wrong sure John Wick is profitable but it's far from being able to compete with other studios.

The films were god awful. I have no idea if the books were significantly better but I'd assume the answer is no.

I heard the movies actually made the stories better. 🤣🤣🤣

feels weird, this and harry potter, series that in my mind only ended like 5 or so years ago already getting rebooted
