ravon80
In a just world he'd get in and be the long-suffering vet frontrunner. But we don't live in a just awards world.I'd be happy if he just got in. That way he'd always be "Oscar-nominated actor Gary Oldman" which he f**king deserves.
Travod
Fassbender wasn't as good as I thought he would be.
RichWS
I'm sticking with my five of Pitt, Clooney, Dujardin, Fassbender, and Oldman for now. I'll be keeping every single finger and toe crossed that Michael Shannon gets in. He gave the year's truly best performance. Impact
Seems strange Oldman would win for playing a good guy.
RichWS
Let's just get Oldman a nomination first. I think Clooney has a pretty good lead here.
Impact
I kind of find Clooney overrated to be honest.
RichWS
I like him. He's gotten the best reviews of his career. The movie is a hit. His only competition is Pitt and I think his performance is too subtle to win.
Impact
I should rephrase that-I've never seen it, but I just find him overrated.
RichWS
You're certainly not alone. My girlfriend enjoys bashing him.

Travod
I'd rather switch Leo with Fassbender but it would probably be with Gary Oldman.

Impact
Is Oldman good or bad in it? It just seems strange if he is the good guy in it.
Travod
He's the main good character, lol.
4815162342
Yeah Oldman is the protagonist, he's called in to investigate rumors of a Russian spy in British Intelligence and he leads the investigation.
Impact
Wow, I just expect him to be a villain because well, he is Gary Oldman.
rockNrollaDIM
Fassbender > Pitt > ClooneyIMO.I'd like to see Pitt take it though. It's hard to compare them because Fassbender had a more layered, dramatic role. Pitt's was just a consistently very good performance. No wailing needed, he went in there and got the job done with subtlety and charisma. The guy has been so solid for years now. He picks great projects every time and always delivers. He's due, and who knows when his next chance might come up (maybe he will knock it out in that gangster movie he filmed?).Clooney was fine and for once I didn't completely feel like I was watching him play himself, but I still don't see it as something worthy of an Oscar win.
