『アナと雪の女王』は、公開20日間(4/2現在)で興収60億円を突破、

動員は500万人を超えた。

Frozen crossed 6 billion yen in 20 days, also past 5M admissions.

Why is Friday such a 'weak' day for BO in Japan?

Oh well, at least it's holding quite better than Doraemon and it's still slightly up from last week.

Saturday better be above 30K, as there likely won't be another monstrous Sunday jump saving it.

Saturday should hold just like Fri. I dont see why it wouldn't. Sunday will drop in the evening. The week will be very close to 16m .entire week over 24m. Close to 76m total.if-Prediction: due to 8% hike the weekend will increase again, barely. That will be big news.

Maybe because it's spring break? So Friday would be like any other weekday. I think it's will be "stronger" in a normal week. We've never seen that on Frozen because its 1st Friday was OD, 2nd Friday was a holiday, 3rd and 4th Fridays are in the middle of spring break. Or, from my experience in Japan, people there just don't go to the movies on Friday, they go out to have drinks with their colleagues instead, after working all week.

Why Doreamon makes only 10% of daily admissions from 14.30 to 22.00?

My guess is that the audience of Doraemon are mostly kids. Kids seldom go to the movies after 14:30, not to mention after 18:00.

So, visiting TOHO website we can easily find that there are very few showtimes after 16:10 ...

In many theaters, 15:10 is the last showtime and some even provide morning Doraemon...

Another evidence to support my argument is that some TOHO theaters will stop screening Doraemon next Tuesday.

If the spring break ends, who would go to see Doraemon ? Just see the weekday figures of Doraemon before SB and we

can find how terrible ...

Anyone know when bluray release is? I hope they dont do something dumbass and release it right after GW. That would really fuck up the run and screw w omni's digestion. :-(

In Japan, as far as I know, the BD will be released after the movie stop screening months later.

Take the wind rises for example, its BD releases date is 2014 June 18.

This means that Frozen audience should be at least a 40% of adult moviegoers (probably female) do not go to the movies to accompany their childrens or nieces or lil sisters, but simply because they like Frozen. If so, (audience isn't almost entirely composed by kids like Doraemon), then post-holidays decrease could be less than expected.

its more adults then kids I think. Mu had a similar opening weekend but only did 5m midweek (before summer started). Frozen did 9m (reducing fri holiday bump). Mu doubled to 10m w summer, frozen increased only 50%. Ladies day numbers proves its a lot of adult women. Im looking for just a 25%-27 decline from the first midweek, around 10% average drop per week for three weeks. 7-7.5m. Frozen was dropping 14% in US in Jan - Feb. 10% drops happen on occasion in japan and its viable based on its performance so far. We need toho 15k on monday= 1m. That'll give us 7-7.5 for mw and tell us the kind of legs it will have. Edited by mfantin65

Yeah, I've never seen a movie that is still playing in theaters but already available on DVD at the same time, even when that movie has crazy legs. So I don't think we have to worry about DVD release problem that killed Frozen's legs in North America.

Nice number for today btw! Bigger than last Friday. Can it increase again this weekend? That would be crazy, but Frozen will have more seats and showtimes, at least at Toho. Even with lower admissions than last weekend it could still have bigger gross.

next monday is still the spring break, the last day. So I think 15k will not be a problem. The real challenge comes in next Tuesday.

  2.5m Th

15.9m midweek.  my multipier was a little low last week, could be 16.2m

67.5m Total

So SB carries over to Monday, hmmm... I am now certain we have at least a revenue increase for the WE, 8.7-9m

76m+ total on sunday

Yes, next Monday is the last day of SB. Interestingly, next next Monday (4/14), happens to be the TOHO day--another

discount day as the opening day of Frozen in May 14th.
