baumer
I know that everyone here seems to be excited about Prometheus, but I think based on the success of the 2 previous Madagascar movies and the fact that Prometheus is R-rated and seems somewhat like a horror movie, Madagascar 3 has a chance. That would be an interesting turn of events since everyone here is focusing on Prometheus and giving no attention the very successful Madagascar franchise.Upset? As in OW, overall? Most people, including me, have Madagascar opening higher and finishing higher. This would not be an upset at all. baumer
I hope not, Madagascar 3 looks like an absolute piece of shit. That's cause you're not 8 years old.
kayumanggi
I think 140 M is possible. Let's see how 3D helps this one.

rockNrollaDIM
Upset?Madagascar is way more sure bet than Prometheus. Madagascar is sure to land in the 150-200 range. Prometheus COULD gross under 100m, if it really disappoints.

rockNrollaDIM
Really doubt that...I have it at 175m.... sorry for the KAL range. You think it's coming in under 150m?

baumer
Yup.Under 110M I think.Just another case of people taking their personal views of a film and equating it to box office potential. You're not under 10 years old, so this film is not aimed at you.
Hiccup
135M is the minimum this will gross. It is actually the first family film since The Lorax so its chances of failure are slim.
rockNrollaDIM
Yea. That's just crazy. 40% drop from the last film? Why would it do that?

Gideon
Even if the synopsis feels "tired", the setting of Monaco is really beautiful. The movie should really play the "hysterical" card and give us a very fun/full of energy climax.I don't remember about the grand-ma in part 2...alive or not? If yes, back for part 3?

iEye
The grandma was funny in the 1st film but annoying as hell in the second...IMO, if she is to show up in the third I think it should be a cameo... Edited May 17, 2012 by iEye
