RichWS
If I were a voter, Deakins would get mine. Edited February 12, 2013 by RichWS
Travod
I'd go with Anna Karenina.
JackO
Go Deakins. I have Skyfall with 4 Oscars right now....
The Stingray
If I were a voter, Deakins would get mine. But you aren't a voter, so why don't you take your big stick and your boy-friend, and find a bus to catch!
Jack Nevada
Even though I dont think its near his best work, I hope Deakins finally wins an Oscar for Skyfall
Sims
Ugh, don't just give him one when he doesn't deserve it. He's been fucked over but he'll have more chances. Maybe he'll win for Villeneuve's film this year.
CoolioD1
He totally does deserve it for Skyfall though. He won't get it because of the Academy's recent inexplicable hard-on for 3D photography though.

Life of Pi was better shot and more beautiful than Skyfall imo
CoolioD1
Life of Pi was better shot and more beautiful than Skyfall imo Eh, the cinematography itself was kinda ordinary to me. Deakins makes digital look like film to a stunning effect. I can remember way more great imagery from Skyfall than I can from Life of Pi. To me its the exact opposite: I have most of the imagery of Pi vividly in my memory, but from Skyfall the only gorgeous images I remember are the Hong Kong octopus fight and the scottish landscapes Edited February 18, 2013 by Jack Nevada
The Stingray
For me its something like: 1. Life of Pi 2. The Master 3. Skyfall 4. Prometheus 5. Django Unchained Haven't seen Anna Karenina or Lincoln yet. Edited February 18, 2013 by The Stingray
CoolioD1
Yeah, there aren't many specific shots that stand out to me there. I would definitely say that the vfx or the production design is what makes the movie look great more so than what the cinematographer was doing. Jack Nevada
Django Unchained really shouldn't be there.
The Stingray
Django Unchained really shouldn't be there. It was pretty good, not great.
CoolioD1
It's a mixed bag. There's certainly some excellent work in there though.
Sims
Life of Pi used color to such an effective degree. That is NOT all on the VFX crew.
Jack Nevada
Nah, it was just underwhelming visually. Moonrise or Master deserved a nomination more
acsc1312
AK should have this in the bag out of the 5 nominated, but pi is the only other worthy nominee. Edited February 18, 2013 by acsc1312
