Blankments
I don't see why everyone is on about Pi ... and the cinematography wasn't amazing, the visual effects were.Yeah, I loved Pi, but I don't get the hype on the cinematography, which was nice, but nothing astounding. Skyfall is still the most beautiful movie I saw this year.
FilmBuff
Skyfall IMO had the best cinematography of the year. Roger Deakins really added a lot of great shots in the movie.
CloneWars
Pi stands a good chance at wining cinematrographt, but really there was nothing special about its cinematograpy. The film looks pretty, but ehh, whatever.
JackO
I actually have Skyfall winning now
Safeno Rdz
I don't get why is no one talking about Cloud Atlas. It's cinematography was epic, Edited January 4, 2013 by Magnum
The Dark Alfred
Cloud Atlas is overlooked, just like Samsara or TDKR in this cat. Skyfall was great, but far from Deakins' best work. I think Pi will take this unless Lincoln sweeps.
acsc1312
WB needs to screen TDKR on blu rays for the academy. Eyegasmic

acsc1312
Lame. It truly is overlooked cinematography.
Olive
ASC nominations Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Skyfall http://www.awardsdaily.com/?p=60017
Olive
Crash, Million Dollar Baby, Chicago won without ASC nom.You have to go back to 2006 to find a Best Picture winner without an ASC nom. The Departed.
riczhang
ASC nominations Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Skyfall http://www.awardsdaily.com/?p=60017 So Anna Karenina will probably miss with the AMPAS. They always seem to end up snubbing someone good, and then awarding a shit winner.
