Well then, I'm going to suggest you have a slight disagreement with Baumer on this one.

Cruise didn't ruin anything.  He was playing a caricature of the 80's rock star.  And sure he is not the best singer but neither is Russel Crowe or Richard Gere or even Meryl Streep.  I thought he nailed everything.  Such a fantastic performance.

But seriously, this movie is like one of those dinner and a theater tacky restaurants to lure in tourists. Except it has none of the awkward fun of actually being there.

I love this film because this is the music I grew up with.

This movie was so cringeworthy. C-
