podo
DOS showings are canceled in the majority of theaters located in Seoul due to the conflict of ticket revenue sharing rate between WB Korea and multiplex chains (CGV and Lotte Cinema). This is very annoying indeed. I live in Seoul, and now I can't see DOS in my local theater on its opening day. Also, this will damage box office performance since about 20 percent of the South Korea's total population live in Seoul. I'm just hoping WB Korea and multiplex chains find a middle ground asap. yjs
Why only in Seoul? because they are fighting over a different term specifically for Seoul distribution. Usually for foreign films the cinema chains get 40% and the distribution companies get 60% but the cinema chains asked for 50:50 deal for Seoul distribution, which is by far the most important and profitable one since about one fifth of the nation's whole population is concentrated in Seoul (10 mil/50 mil) and the movie going rate is also higher (especially for foreign films) in the capital city. Other major cities seem to prefer Korean titles over foreign ones.
yjs
anyway, this happened with other huge titles like Thor 2, that cloudy chances of meatball something movie and Monsters uni. they will settle eventually. it's their losses anyway.

chasmmi
You're still special to me That almost brings a tear to my eye. Luckily it doesn't as it is -2 degrees outside, there is a mini blizzard and any tears that did appear could well freeze to my face causing iceburns or even blindness.

We're The Millers We're the Millers going straight to dvd is a fail. It could have done modestly well during the chuseok (korean thanksgiving) holidays. but The Conjuring did well during that time somewhat unexpectedly and WB Korea was more focused on that one.
