The Moon did have 4k admissions in sneaks today which explains the slowdown. Oppenheimer only gained 5k today after hitting 17k presales in its first two days so I think @keysersoze123's theory that only PLF tickets are available so far is true and that the good seats have been taken now.

MI7 got hit the hardest vs. last week but has the best Fri -> Sat jump. Elemental's jump is smaller which was expected since it's now the school holidays. Hopefully it wins back a lot of showings for Sat/Sun so the walkups can match or exceed the PS drop.

I just realised that Elemental's presales outside of Sunday are significantly up from last week.

The final column is the sum of all the "admission start" numbers from the following week's Mondays through to Thursdays. Essentially it's all the non-walkup numbers from the weekdays and you can see it is pretty well-correlated with the post-Sunday presale numbers at a ratio of about 8-9 to 1. This would point to somewhere around 130k admissions in presales in the next Mon-Thu.

 

So maybe a greater proportion of schools are off next week as opposed to the week that just passed? If so, another W2W boost from school holidays would definitely help soften the blow that the local movies will deal to it from next Wednesday on. We may even see W2W increases on Monday and Tuesday depending on walkups.

Done during pre-sales and also became the 2nd highest grossing/admissions film in SK for 2023.   That won't last of course but pretty cool.  Interesting also that 3 of the 4 top grossers so far this year in SK are animated films.

Possible.  Such a shame that Elemental got kneecapped in the US for Haunted Mansion.  With that near $1m Thur number even losing screens it could have done near $5m if it's showtimes weren't decimated.

Wtf... this has to be the week that the majority of schools get off. Last weeks jumps were a little disappointing and I guess this explains why. On top of that Ransomed and The Moon are slowing down a lot versus Smugglers so will probably open closer to the Barbie/Insidious/Conan trio from two weeks ago which means the pathway is clearing for Elemental to start elementing all over the place again.

 

This is the highest Elemental's presales have ever been at Monday midnight, the previous best was 44,500 on its second Monday which would have been backloaded by more weekend presales since that was before the holidays.

 

Finally The First Slam Dunk is probably getting an expansion this week, its presales are up to 10,559, even higher than barbie (10,471) @Issac Newton
