Rsyu
I've just been over the screen count over the past week. The box office was in the slums but the number always came above 4000, usually 4,400 and as high as 4,600 in some cases. On the opening day of Interstellar, the screen count suddenly falls down to 3,811. A lot of shows were selling out so idk why this happened. Rsyu
Naver ratings rose a little. -Netizen: 9.45/10 (3,111) -Audience: 9.48/10 (205) Presales going into the weekend are extremely strong so hoping for a decent increase over OD. -277,891 (81.2% share)

Rsyu
Male to female ratio is 7:3 at the moment. It needs to reach the female audience more to have good legs.
Heretic
So it's looking at close to 1.5m for first 4 days? What's that in $? Around 12m?
Rsyu
Interstellar's 4 day opening should comfortably beat Inception's 5 day admissions of 1,238,563 as well as Gravity's 4 day opening of 825,367 admissions. Beating the record November opening of 2012 (1,621,656) will be harder. Interstellar needs to go above 550K admissions on Saturday and decrease only a small amount on Sunday to beat it.

teardropmina
Male to female ratio is 7:3 at the moment. It needs to reach the female audience more to have good legs. that's serious unbalanced~ I'm sure Inception and Gravity had more female audience in the mix. if the ratio didn't change, even with higher OW, it'll probably end up gross less than Gravity? No, I don't see this grossing less than gravity (which grossed $29 million). It will have a bigger OW and word of mouth seems to be better. Gravity was not much better in the sex ratio than Interstellar is now either. Interstellar-73:27 Gravity-68:32 Inception was a little more balanced with a 6:4 ratio in favour of males.
teardropmina
ok, both Gravity and Interstellar rely on males to carry run, the more male-dominant one would win in the end.

Second highest is The Shawshank redemption with a 9.37/10 rating. Edited November 8, 2014 by Rsyu
Rsyu
Also, the value of the dollar against the Won hit the highest point all year yesterday (means depreciating value of the local currency). Not good news for Intertellar's potential gross. 2014 high: 1 dollar=1093.5 won 2014 low: 1 dollar=1,007.5 won
