Rsyu
If it follows the same pattern as inception, week 2 admissions/gross could rise over opening week, in which case approximately 2 million admissions for this week would happen. Monday of week 2 for Gravity and 2012 were both below OD. Edited November 10, 2014 by Rsyu

Rsyu
Judging from presales <interstellar> is going to be huge this weekend. Depending on how many screens/showtimes <Cart> takes away from IS, there's a possibility it comes close to last weekend (I wouldn't rule out LW being beaten either). Rsyu
Damn! So $50m is a foregone conclusion? No not yet. The unfavourable exchange rate for the dollar (lowest all year) means IS would need approx 6.5~7 million admissions for that to happen. With Cart opening on thursday and MJ1 & Fury opening the week after, I'm not sure if there's enough audience to go accommodate them all being outside the summer/winter frame. If IS holds well on week 3 (by holding well I mean close to OW level) I think $40 million is almost certain to happen. It would need a couple of strong holds beyond that for $50m to happen though.
Rsyu
Interstellar presales has risen to 318,214 and makes me think it will break 400,000 before the weekend (pretty astonishing outside of the summer/winter frame. Presales for the second week rising over the first has only happened with 3 other movies this year: TWS, EoT and a local film the fatal encounter. All of those films finished with over 3.5 million admissions so it can be considered a sign of good legs. Ticket prebooking site max movie reports that compared to last week, where males were the primary consumers, this week it's much more balanced with a male to female ratio of 51:49. There was also an increase in the attendance of the 20s age group rising from 16% to 24% showing a broad spectrum of age in the audience. Interstellar, having only been released for 7 days, still has a way to go to topple Nolan's other works. Batman begins (921,300) and the prestige (458,956) were overtaken easily but it remains a far distance behind his big three: The dark knight (4,087,355), the dark knight rises (6,396,615) and Inception (5,926,948). It will need to make most of this week while the presales are still high.

Rsyu
Big rise over yesterday for interstellar, an increase of 26.3%. National college entrance exams finish tomorrow so that might help with the box office.

Rsyu
After 8 days of release, Interstellar has become the 2nd biggest November release of all time. It's holds this week have been remarkable, as has been the high presales (basically 90% of the total presold tickets belong to IS). It won't even need Saturday to overtake gravity in admissions, it will definitely fall sometime on Friday. I'd bet good money that IS will pass 2012 now. Local release cart, which opened today, was Interstellar's biggest obstacle this week. It has overcome it without losing hardly any screens. I full expect Interstellar to pass 4.5 million admissions by the end of the week, maybe as much as 4.7-4.8 million. Rsyu
How high do you think Interstellar can go? Bigger than Inception's $38.7m? Those presales are huge outside of the holiday frame. Only Roaring currents has been bigger all year. Saturday could go over 700K admissions. At the moment thinking 1.4million admissions for saturday-sunday. Inception is locked IMO.
