$100m was always too optimistic for this kind of film. Won't say it doesn't still get there, but, a $20m+ opening for this is great.

I was thinking that until recently, but the outstanding reviews got my hopes up.At least this should now outgross the likes of Total Recall, Battleship and hopefully John Carter. So we may take consolation in the fact.

the studio picked the worst release date for Looper.. On the same day as an animated film that parents might decide to take their kids to instead and right before Taken 2.

Frankenweenie was always going to be a tough sell, but it should have more teen/adult appeal than Hotel. Still, I'd be really happy with anything over 15m. Disney isn't even estimating it over 3k theaters.
