The twitter blogger appears a big historical fan of the Tang Dynasty where #TheAssassin sets and he claims it is the best Chinese language film he has seen in the last two years.

 

I booked a ticket today but I went to the wrong theater.  Maybe I will try later.

Basically just recommending The Assassin...it's the best Chinese language film he's seen in the past 2 years.

At first I thought it is the movie that is actual in South Korean cinemas..... but that has some other letters (Assassination)

Chinese moviegoers won't be patient enough for anything like The Assassin, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. According to BO preview, it will be released in the US through Well Go

The Assassin was never going to be a mainstream movie, even though it is already the most comercial one of Hou's works and Huace are pushing it on marketing. It's like a David Lynch or a Jim Jarmusch flick in the US.

Sounds like a good one. the type that I watch and doesn't do a lot of BO. Ironically most of the movies I track, toons and comic book redundant crap, I don't even watch, lol

 

T5 looking like itll come in flat to a small bump from yesterday 37-40m unless the evening is really stong. 800m mite be out now w/o a big bump and IDK how well itll do w next weeks holidays if there are many new releases.

 

MH still has a positive market share % to showtime % ratio. Most don't. Hopefully it gets some shows back.

 

"Hundred regiments" opening today, sounds interesting, will come in second or third at 15-20m

Mixed WOM. weekdays dropped 20% per day and no Friday bump, not good holds.  May be up 60-70% today though, but now a new release, Hundred Regiments, looks like great WOM, is going to beat it with just 10% of showtimes vs T5s 29%.

 

MH rebounding yesterday and today after Thursdays hit. May do 10.5m today up from 4.8m yesterday and 3.5m Thursday. FF7 total still locked, was shaky there for a bit
