On Friday, another local film Saving Mother Robot, starring Mi Yang (leading star in TT2) and Xiaoming Huang (Crime of Passion) opened to RMB 236K through 3000 shows and 7800 attendence .... Per show attendence only 2.5 people ...    Must be lowest ever.

$90M for PR shouldnt be a big problem, unless something dramitically happens next week (The Palace and Unbeatable to open).

If PR follows jumps/drops for last week, then Sat and Sun should be 32m+ and 28m+ respectively.

 

Hope next week can bring another 100m (though 80-90m seems more plausible).

That's a great weekend hold, I'm proud of China for improving the box-office performance of Pacific Rim.

I think studios consider China as the most important foreign market out there. For god's sake they try to make their films as China-Friendly as possible, I don't see them doing that for other countries. I sincerely doubt they get honestly get 25% of the gross. There's plenty of hidden curroption in China that the Studios use to get a higher percentage take of the gross.

Getting 25% when you don't have to distribute the film isn't that much less than most places once you add distribution costs.
