China Box Office Thread | Deadpool & Wolverine- July 26

One of producers wrote on facebook that they now expect 20mln OW. 3mln USD. 

He wrote it like this is totally cool and everyone is happy beyond words.

Sounds to me like he's setting the bar low, so they can come back later and say the movie "surpassed expectations." A 20m OW would be worse than a bomb for a movie with this many screens and this much publicity. Fly Me to the Moon (which firedeep described as "DOA") did 15m with a much lower screencount and minimal marketing. I have a hard time believing 20m is a real estimate.

Don't know about his sources. Still many already bought that and now they are spreading rumors about great success with 20mln OW.

We probably better wait for tomorrow's actuals for Starlingrad, since est. for openers sometimes could be very off. But still I stand by my early forecase (10M+ OD, $10M 4-days).  WOM overally seems decent.

One thing interesting is that Starlingrad should be the first non-English / non-Chinese language film that open to #1 weekly spot in China's cinema histoy. And of course, it is the very first Russian film that opens to #1 daily/weekly. Both  records will be by a large margin, thanks to gaint 19000+ daily show count.
