I'm tired of hearing about F7.. If it weren't for Walkers death, this movie wouldn't have done any better than the other 6 movies.. That power of Death, that eulogy... The makers of that franchise will milk the shit out of his death to for the next movie..

 

FF7 was obviously helped in a big way by Paul Walker's death. That was true of TDK also, though some tried it play it down. The Nolan Batman series got a huge lift from Heath Ledger's death and FF7's performance reinforces that assertion completely.

BTW, it is ridiculous to expect any movie including AOU to perform like FF7 in China and some other countries. FF7 was a phenomenon in some of these markets. 

 

FF7 is likely to end up with 90% higher gross WW than FF6's $788M and that is way beyond incredible.

$34M Tuesday is still quite good but didn't break TASM's record (in NA). If it can make about the same as Furious 7 on Wednesday, that will be solid since a big drop on second day is expected. But after that it needs to rebound and earn more than FF7 during the 3-day weekend.

How will it rebound. Olive said its tracking below F7 1st wednesday. I would think saturday increase would be softer for AOU than F7 as that was almost 2nd weekend for Furious 7 vs 1st weekend for AOU.

 

But irrespective of anything this will be 3rd biggest grosser in China and that is nothing to snort around.

its not a choice. SARFT sets the date. If possible AOU would have opened on May 1st and Furious 7 on Good friday. But that aint possible in China.

Well Ultron has proven to be a strong Saturday and Sunday performer like all the other Marvels, it should do some nice numbers on those days, I see no reason China would be any different

wow. matched TF4s first Monday but that was after a $103m weekend and is losing ground to FF7s Thursday after $143m in  sales

if it drops close 100m tomorrow were looking at the week barely clearing 900m and possibly below 1500m/$250m total
