Isn't the Sherlock show popular in China? How big is Benedict Cumberbatch there?

Dr Strange over Ant-Man?

Cameron came China 3 years ago and created a weibo account(like Twitter). He said he enjoyed the journey and was glad to answer some questions Chinese would like to ask.One of them commented if Cameron could remind Sherlock team because fans wanted to watch the next Sherlock season as soon as possible.Cameron said he knowed that Benedict was the pop star in China and he would try his best to “remind" the team.:D

Strange at 15m in PS. Should get over 20m by morning and do about 2.5-3.0x. Possibly a larger multi if it takes off.

Thinking 50-60m OD but could be more.

AM OD was 76m and good legs with better than 50% WoW holds for a 673m total

It's going to need very good WoM to beat AM.

Agree. Maybe ticket prices are a little higher compated to The Ant?

Iron Man 3 - ¥12.4m(May Day)

BvS - ¥8.8m(Fri)

Apocalypse - ¥7.7m(Fri)

Iron Man 3 was phenomenal considering how much it grew from Avengers(previous year). Civil War on the other hand came well below AOU despite it being more a team up movie including Iron Man.

On Strange the midnight number is good. But Maoyan presales for tomorrow still looks low.but Cbooo looks much better.

Olive,

Which site is better these days. Maoyan or Cbooo?

Age of Ultron could have done better if it opened on Friday(I meant midnights).

Superhero films were not so hot before The Avengers released in China.I think AOU has reached the limit of Superhero films.

Thanks Olive. Any reason why tickets are cheaper?

Also BO does not seem to recover from the terrible spell. which movie is gonna break it?  I am hoping we see another mermaid kind of run very soon.

Online tickets share are growing, they are cheaper than the tickets at the Box Office.

Every theater chain has their apps, they also give off discounted tickets through apps.

Interesting because Western press has been emphasizing disappearing ticket subsidies as a cause of the box office slump. Are you seeing that @Olive or is it mostly a lack of quality films?

IMO, no enough quality films and interesting movies are the main reason.
