How can that be if it will be at $100 million through Sunday? It's only gonna make $20 million more after that? I don't see how it only does $20 million more after $100 million in 9 days. FranMan
I think they're basing their projections on the current drop rate and the potential percentage of screens ceded to the new wide releases this weekend. I think it was @No Prisoners who said (at that point of course) that with a "gun to his head" he'd estimate it would do $250 million! Then the bottom fell out! Now we won't even get half of that!! Their popularity is waning and ratings have dropped by a lot - plus the embarrassing controversies aren't helping them (the RM/Australia issue, the Luhan/Zheng Kai issue). Season 2 of Running Man had higher ratings and more positive audience response. Deng Chao has always been pretty famous outside of RM, as is his relationship with Sun Li, which is why Devil and Angel did well box office-wise but after the overwhelmingly negative response, I don't see them helping much either.

Maybe not exactly "popularity dipped" (at least we don't know yet until their next film comes out), more like "a little criticisim crisis" ... Seems very Transformers-like with giant CGI sequences and sci-fi action. I think it has a shot at $300+ million more so than the rest on that list. FranMan
I'm guessing it's down to lack of awareness. Other than the first trailer that dropped, probably not much marketing has been done since or at least beeped on the Chinese radar. I can see BvS. Cap 3 and Warcraft making the 200-300m blockbuster club, and more depending on how much more the movie hits with the audience. X-Men would have to depend more on early reviews and WOM, IMO. KP1025
I'm not sure about Warcraft. I know the game is popular in China, but the movie doesn't look interesting to me at all as a former player.

Is it because Duoban users comprise Chinese members from not just China (i.e. HK, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia) or is it because the users are more cultural critics and less general audience?
