baumer
I'm sure that increase for BD2 had more to do with being Thanksgiving week, all the increases on that day were above average. WIR had its Tuesday be the election, which does wonders for kids films. CA had it the day before Halloween. Maybe increases in this part of December are more subdued? But it's still not very common.Looper: 34%End of Watch: 17%Resident Evil: 11%The Words: 48%Tuesday increases even for openers are not uncommon. John Marston
Obviously we can't tell anything right now. Argo had a miniscule increase compared to most movies listed yet had fantastic legs for instance Edited December 19, 2012 by John Marston

Twilight notwithstanding. How many more criteria are you going to use for an excuse for The Hobbit? The Hobbit has IMAX so that will stunt the increase for sure.Maybe the week before Christmas people have other things to do than go to the movies. But no matter how you look at it, this is a very soft increase.

baumer
I don't see what's so bad about it, he was comparing movies with which TH has little-to-no similarities. But the common ground here is Tuesday, and its supposed to be a family film, so if it is, then where are all the families on Tuesday?Maybe if Kristen Stewart was in it as one of the Elves, it would have increased by 20% yesterday.
