ChD
Yeah, what are you getting at? The fact that you've been hating on Zimmer and all his scores recently... Never thought you'd actually like one of his scores in the end
Jack Nevada
The fact that you've been hating on Zimmer and all his scores recently... Never thought you'd actually like one of his scores in the end I'm not wanting anyone to win, those were predictions.
Impact
I'm going to start the thread for what will have the most nominations. (And go figured-the letter v is stuck on my keyboard unless if I push it hard for some reason, well at least it was not a more common letter, still rather have it be X or Z ) Films I will put on there: 12 Years Gravity Mr. Banks Philomena American Hustle Not sure what else I should put, note that I am not expecting AH or Philomena to get tons of noms, but you never know! So what else should I put?
CoolioD1
So what else should I put? Captain Phillips, definitely. Maybe Wolf of Wall Street.
Impact
Captain Phillips, definitely. Maybe Wolf of Wall Street. I didn't know people were saying Cap would get tons of noms, but okay.
Jack Nevada
Captain Phillips will be this year's ZDT. Bunch of nominations, no wins, everyone is disappointed.
CoolioD1
I didn't know people were saying Cap would get tons of noms, but okay. I think it's got potential in at least 9 categories. Probably won't get all of them, but might as well throw it in there.
Impact
Captain Phillips will be this year's ZDT. Bunch of nominations, no wins, everyone is disappointed. 5 noms and it did win-granted it was a tie though
Jack Nevada
5 noms and it did win-granted it was a tie though Considering the massive pre-Oscar hype it might as well had gone home empty handed. Jake Gittes
I'm actually thinking Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o for Supporting Actor & Actress right now. At this point I'm more inclined to pick Ejiofor over Redford for Actor, but I'm really, really torn between Blanchett and Dench.
Jake Gittes
Other categories where I just can't pick one right now: Original Score (Gravity or 12YAS), Editing (Gravity or Captain Phillips), Production Design (12YAS or Gatsby), Animated Feature (Frozen or The Wind Rises). Also, Wadjda for Best Foreign Language film.

ChD
^ I would take 'Her' into consideration for Best Original Screenplay. I dare call it a front runner right now.

stripe
LOL at everyone predicting locked winners before we even know how three possible contenders are. And how other three already praised films do with GA. Only because last year we had an October release winning does not mean we will have it again. HISTORY LESSON Last 25 years, 9 winners opened in December; 6 winners opened in November (most of them limited release before going wide in December) Only 2 October films have got the gold. Argo and The Departed. Some amazingly received October films that got not recognition in the last 20 years (the years I've been following Oscars): The Social Network; Sideways; Mystic River; Training Day; Mulholland Drive; Billy Elliot; Requiem for a dream; Three Kings; Being John Malkovich; Life is Beautiful; American History X; Pleasantville; Boogie Nights; Gattaca; Sleepers; Leaving Las Vegas; Pulp Fiction; Bullets over Broadway... I've bolded the films that were called early frontrunners. Sideways and many others didn't even get a nom. Pulp Fiction and Life is Beautiful had to fight against previously released contenders Forrest Gump & Saving Private Ryan. Heh! Even SPR and LIB lost against a weaker (but hotter at nominations time) December film.
stripe
Predictions in all categories Best picture: 12 Years a Slave Best director: Steve McQueen for 12 Years a Slave Best actor: Robert Redford for All Is Lost Best actress: Judi Dench for Philomena Best original screenplay: American Hustle Best adapted screenplay: 12 Years a Slave Best original score: 12 Years a Slave Best cinematography: Gravity Best film editing: Gravity Best art direction: The Great Gatsby Best costumes: The Great Gatsby Best makeup: The Great Gatsby Best visual effects: Gravity Best sound mixing: Gravity Best sound editing: Gravity Best original song: Frozen Best animated feature: Frozen Best foreign film: The Hunt Best documentary feature: The Act of Killing 5 Oscars - Gravity 4 Oscars - 12 Years a Slave 3 Oscars - The Great Gatsby You are predicting a Screenplay winning for a film that has yet to be seen?
