- Trintignant not getting nominated wasn't a shock but a big snub in light of both the remarkable performance and the strong showing for Amour

- Bigelow not getting nominated was a much bigger crime than snubbing Affleck, her work was on a totally different level

No Skyfall BP nomination. Not unexpected, but a bit disappointing since it was such a landmark film in a landmark series.No Affleck BD nomination. Ben Affleck has entered the big leagues in terms of directors. He deserves the recognition of being nominated.Nothing for TDKR. As it was the conclusion to one of the greatest film trilogies of all time, and a great film in its own right, I would have at least given it some tech nominations.

Marion IMO is biggest snub, she's know joined the exclusive company of Tilda Swinton as the only person to hit all 4 major precursors and miss out on an acting nod. Both gave highly deserving performances, especially legend Tilda.

Amour was selected by Austria which is Haneke's nationality. France selected The Intouchables as their pick for Foreign language after considering both Holy Motors and Rust and Bone

I always assumed the country where the film is made is the one who choose what a film that was produced in their country.
