Hernan Gonzalez
Can you tell me numbers please? No idea. We only have the Top 5 estimates. I don't know why in Spain numbers are not as easy to find like in some other countries.
The47th
- Last year, Spain box office was about 700 million $ cume, so 8AV has made 1% of that amount at 3rd weekend. If we make the same calculation in US, we would be talking about a 109 million $ 3rd weekend. That's just crazy.

efialtes76
Fiesta del Cine 2014: Monday:436,000 admissions.
peludo
Fiesta del Cine 2014: Monday:436,000 admissions. It is a 366% higher than last Monday, and 101,000 admissions more than first day of last Fiesta del Cine, celebrated in October. 8 apellidos vascos has increased a 145% relative to last Monday. I do not know if in admissions or gross. Some media says (2nd link) that the increase is in gross, what would be astonishing, given the lower prices. Last Fiesta del Cine finished with 1,573,412 admissions sold. With the same proportion than Monday, this Fiesta del Cine would finish with 2.047 million admissions sold. peludo
Fiesta del Cine Tuesday: 514,000 admissions (+511% relative to last Tuesday). And we have to consider that yesterday was played a football match between Barcelona and Atlético which was watched by 8.2 million people.

peludo
Why la belle et la bete did so low? Bad critics, lack of appealing, bad promotion and to face against one of the biggest movies ever in Spain.
peludo
Fiesta del Cine Wednesday: 818,534 admissions (+93% relative to last week) Total: 1,900,485 admissions (+15% relative to last Fiesta del Cine in October) Edited April 3, 2014 by peludo
peludo
Everything seems to be in favor of 8 apellidos vascos: next 3 days (Mon-Wed) will be celebrated another Fiesta del CIne, with 2.90 € tickets in 3,000 screens in the whole country. 2 million people have already registered to go to theaters in next 3 days (it is necessary a previous registration). It is not crazy to think that maybe 600 or 700k of those people will see 8AV... 8AV has not sold 600-700k admissions, it has sold 911,393 admissions in Mon-Wed period  Considering it was at 16.5 million € on Sunday and 2.65 million admissions, and each admission cost 2.90 €, by Wednesday 8AV figures should be 3.56 million admissions and over 19 million € (26 million $) http://cultura.elpais.com/cultura/2014/04/03/actualidad/1396514427_073995.html Edited April 3, 2014 by peludo

peludo
TOP 10 FRIDAY 1-8 APELLIDOS VASCOS 2-NOÉ new 3-RÍO new 4-C.AMÉRICA 5-NEED FOR SPEED new 6-HOTEL BUDAPEST 7-KAMIKAZE 8-PEABODY Y SHERMAN 9-GUILLAME 10-300 Best friday of the year Estimates: 5,3M€ 8 apellidos vascos 1,18M€ friday 1,9M€ Noé This is absurd!! So, after 3 weekends increasing and after Fiesta del Cine where it sold nearly 1 million admissions, 8AV is able to stay flat and even has chances to increase again? If I am not wrong, it finished with over 19 million € this week promo, so by SUnday it should have reached 25 million € and about 4.3-4.4 million admissions. Already over The Orphanage in terms of gross (and tied in admissions). It only has to surpass The Others (27 million) and The Impossible (42). Biggest Spanish movie in admissions is The Others with 6.4 million. 2 million more are needed from Sunday coming from a probably 800k weekend. If it starts to drop normally (with a 30-35% drops), that would be done. This is the top 10 adjusted: 1. Titanic: 11.3 million admissions 2. Avatar: 9.5 3. E.T.: 8.1 4. Doctor Zhivago: 7.2 5. Fellowship of the Ring: 7.0 6. Star Wars: 6.9 7. Return of the King: 6.8 8. The Sixth Sense: 6.7 9. El Padrecito: 6.5 10. The Two Towers and The Others: 6.4 We can start to speculate where 8AV can land... Edited April 6, 2014 by peludo
