wow that is not good for Transformers.  for comparison TF4 did 8.8m OW onto 27m.  TF3 12.4m/37.5m.  TF2 13.7m / 40.3m. TF 8.1m / 27.9m.  I don't have OD figures but highly doubt any those had OD's below 1m.  it will luck to be half the OW of lowest previous opening.

 

As for Cars 3 - I am not surprised - and that is epically bad ... OD less than DM3's second Thursday!  I mean I know there is holidays coming but at this point... 10m would be optimistic for Cars 3 with an opening this low.  of note cars 2 managed 4.9m OW onto a 20m total.

 

Does this set things up for an explosive opening for Spider-man Homecoming here ?

Performed better over the weekend then Alien:Covenant.

 

DM3 actually won Sunday.  Looking at the graph.  Transformers was about 6 x DM3 on Thursday and behind it by Sunday.

 

2 week school holiday breaks roll through the states over the next 3-4 weeks.  Both DM3 and Cars should hold fairly steady.
