I agree with you in this aspect and that was initially one of my problems with the film, but I've just accepted that I don't think that's the purpose of the film in all honesty! It probably will be a little bit shallow in exploring racism but I still think it should be good.
I'm not expecting some unconventional auteur driven film or whatever but I think this should be a good film and be a great film to take kids especially young girls to!
Also this is based on a book by someone who did extensive research and actually knows these women and their families. I've read it and it's quite interesting. At first I thought the film looked a little shallow and it might be but I'm definitely looking forward to it. It will definitely be a hit.
How many times have 2 Disney films been nominated when one wasn't obviously superior? The only time is when Brave and Wreck it Ralph were nominated and Brave won because academy just voted for Pixar.
yeah I'm definitely thinking vote splitting could happen among the Disney pictures. Most of the time I'm pretty the voters just vote for the Disney film but now there are 3 lol. Dory could miss out on a nomination though.
I think considering this was the first Disney musical since the massive success of Frozen, it's strong preview numbers make sense. We'll see how it's holds up throughout the weekend
I'm surprised. I didn't think there was that much hype for this. At least that what people here were telling me Im too busy with school to really know for sure lol.
yeah maybe I'm wrong. I'm just thinking easy A which was literally about a girl who sold herself for sex was PG-13 lol.
Anyway I'm excited to see it! It looks good. Hope Hailee gets a GG nome and it gives a boost to her career.
LOL I've said this before but I still don't think it should be rated R. None of the clips I've seen have indicated it should have an R rating. They could have taken out the f bombs and opened up a whole audience. Hailee has a lot of teen fans and it would have attracted teenagers to see this.
