I think people are over predicting this tbh. It will make like 50-60 million tops. Looking forward to the songs though. Justin Hurwitz wrote Dear Evan Hansen a musical I saw in New York which was amazing. Him and Lin will be probably be competing for best song lol. People who live in Asia are not bothered as much by white washing and white savior trope because they don't deal with white supremacy as much in Asia and they have movie with Asian leads. it's Asian Americans who are and they certainly have a right to be due to the way Asians are depicted by Hollywood regularly. Constance Wu is actually Asian-american so she's not complaining on anyone's behalf.

People have different opinions. the story was written by Americans and then the Chinese director came on. i dont fault him for trying to make money but doesnt make the story less problematic. He's made movies before about the white guy saving the day so he probably doesn't care but it's a questionable story.

It's not like they were the first inter-racial couple banned from getting married. It's known that the NAACP would choose cases to push that they felt would get the most traction and attention. Like Rosa Parks wasn't the first person arrested for bus segregation but the other person was allegedly "too dark" and not "respectable" enough for their case. Not taking anything away from the couple and the landmark case but I imagine that NAACP couldn't believe their luck when this case came to them. Having a white man and a light skinned black women was the easiest to work with and like literally the perfect last name.

yeah I'm confused why people are saying Tarzan's numbers are good. The only successful version of these lie action remakes are the Disney versions. Other studios should stop making them. The little mermaid one that universal wants to make will bomb as well.

book of mormon will never get made.into a movie lol. Also Wicked will never get a BP nom. Most theatre critics don't even think it's a good musical. Even when it first came out in 2003 it didn't get good reviews. It's just super popular among teenage girls lol. At the tony's it lost best musical to a puppet show musical. I'm super excited for this though. i have a soft spot for the show since it was one of my first musicals I ever saw, I wonder who they will cast. Unknowns or name actors?

yeah as some one who has read the book the trailer seems to give it all away. They shouldn't have even hinted at it. But Idk what i would have gotten from the trailer if I hadn't read it so who knows.

my best friend works at our local movie theater and she said that legit 5 different people called today to refund their tickets for this movie lmao. The weather is kinda crappy-like it's really cold and there is a lot of ice-so maybe that's why? (jk I live in Canada it's always like this lol)

Also this gives me hope that Moana will be awesome. Cuz that's the one I'm really excited for. Hopefully it's not an Inside Out-Good Dinosaur situation. The early buzz has been positive though.

a big problem people also had with Aloha with regards to race is although it took place in Hawaii where 42% of the population was Asian there were no asian characters besides Emma Stone's character lol. And y'all know the mess that Emma Stone's character became lol.

Hopefully this movie bombs.. it looks dumb and I'm tired of white people pretending Egyptians were white. Worried about lionsgate though
