  1. Because female driven films have never been big at midnight, of course. But 55 million for the weekend, regardless of midnight, is absolutely spectacular and not a disappointment in the least.
  2. Eh, apples and oranges. 30 million is a tremendous number that no movie should ever expect- plenty of movies in the past year have hit three million. It's not asking too much for an extra million more to indicate a huge breakout. Besides, it's only a tiny bit below what I predicted for midnights (3.65), so it's not like meltdown levels.
  3. I'm not joking about being slightly disappointed, honestly. I've been riding the Gatsby 50 million train for a long time now, and with the buzz around the movie combined with the huge number of sellouts last night, yes, 4 million seemed like a reasonable number.
  4. I'm actually in the slight disappointment crowd myself for Gatsby- I expected at least 4 million.
  5. 1. Man of Steel 2. Star Trek Into Darkness 3. Fast and Furious 6 4. Anchorman 5. White House Down 6. This Is The End 7. Catching Fire 8. Thor 9. After Earth 10. The Wolverine
  6. It just went from Iron Man 3 to Tony Stark the Giant Slayer.
  7. Going to a movie with one of my ex-girlfriends gave me my worst/most memorable theater going experience ever. This was the hottest girl I've ever dated- she looked straight up just like Gabrielle Union. So for some ungodly reason, even though I'm sometimes a total pussy when it comes to horror movies, I decide to take her to see Paranormal Activity 3 when it comes out. So I'm here, on this date with this beautiful girl, and about ten minutes into the movie, when the girlfriend jumps out of the closest- I straight up let out the loudest scream I've ever had in my life. And then when I last fifteen minutes come around, I look at her, say "fuck it," and just cover my eyes for a minute. The date ended up fine, but needless to say, we broke up a week later.
  8. Eh, it isn't my favorite experience. I like having people around to bullshit with before the previews start and talk about the trailers and movie with afterwards. I'm a pretty social guy. But it's not the worst experience ever- I get to have a nice walk to the theater, sit wherever, and I can at least share my opinion with y'all when I get back.
  9. I never, ever go alone when I'm at home. I usually go with a bunch of friends, or if it's a smaller movie, my mom or older brother. I didn't see a movie by myself until I got to college, but nobody up here wants to see much except really big movies. Just in the past month, I've see 42, Place Beyond the Pines, and Oblivion by myself.
  10. I've seen August; Osage County, and I don't think Cumberbatch has much of a shot for it.
  11. Oh, for some reason I thought you ran the bets. Forgot it was fmpro. My bad, Neo.
  12. TDK is an absolute masterpiece, and along with the Empire Strikes Back, The Two Towers, Spider-Man 2, and a few others, is the reason I'm always the most excited about the middle film in a trilogy. Sometimes not having to have a true beginning or ending is a wonderful thing.
  13. Daredevil might make him give up movies in general.
  14. These are some pretty damn solid lists. Please note I have a Batman tattoo on my arm, for God's sake, so this list should perhaps be taken with more than a grain of salt. 1. The Dark Knight 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. Batman Begins/X-Men First Class 4. Spider Man 2 5. Iron Man 6. The Avengers 7. The Amazing Spider Man 8. Spider-Man 1 9. X2: X-Men United 10. Thor Least favorite movie of all time, probably: Daredevil
  15. Yea, I gotta agree, this isn't going to be as much a weekday movie, considering its still the beginning of May and it's not quite an Avengers level phenom. It'll still have excellent weekends, driven by families.
  16. Alright awesome. Here's the bet Neo Clay vs. djdunkeykong Gatsby OW vs. Pacific Rim OW (domestic) I have Gatsby, Kong has PR

  18. I didn't really get worked up in the S.H.I.E.L.D thing because I think it's implied that they only get involved in serious, mystical situations that threaten the safety of the entire Earth. Otherwise, you have to start questioning why they didn't intervene after 9/11 or during Iraq and stuff. They aren't really supposed to defend against terrorist attacks- that's not their jobs. Also, they house defense thing wasn't too big an issue- it's just something that happened in a superhero movie, and it was actually a highlight of an otherwise disappointing movie.
  19. Still the best movie of 2011 A+
  20. Littlefinger scene was awesome and the climb of the wall was special and very well done. I really enjoyed the Theon scene, needless to say.
  21. Solid episode. The next four episodes are going to be insane and memorable so this one did a nice job slowing the pace and doing the final 'board set' for this season.
