Someone is severely overestimating SMH's drop or Valerian's OW or both.

Is there some sort of super secret Thor Ragnarok trailer which actually makes the film look good? The only trailer I have seen makes the film look like complete garbage and has me longing for the final 30 minutes of Attack of the Clones.

They didn't show up to make that 1D movie a hit so why would they show up to make Dunkirk a hit?

Perhaps people just aren't that interested in the story or the characters, no matter how well-made the film is. All sorts of well-made movies underperform at the box office.

Today's magic number is $14,539,573. Let's see if WW can reduce that by another $1M or so by tomorrow. -
Well, the trailer was also garbage; but why overlook that detail? It probably won't flop; it could very well underperform if the movie's overall quality is as wretched as the trailer.

It's the flop movie being released the same week as Dunkirk which will absorb the bomb stench from King Arthur, Alien Covenant, Baywatch and The Mummy.

There's Something About Mary had a very underrated box office run. For us old timers on here, it was a magical experience watching it in a theater on its opening weekend. The laughter was almost non-stop from start to finish as audiences were unprepared for how truly funny it was. Its WOM and legs were certainly earned. Hard to believe that film turns 20 next year.

I think people need to be very cautious with their Coco predictions. The millions of racist supporters of the current US president are not going to take their kids to the film once they realize who the main character is.

This talk of Edgar Wright having enough fans to impact the box office of Baby Driver in any perceptible way is amusing. Laughable might be a better description, though.

If someone had told me six months ago there would be $100M separating the final grosses of Boss Baby and Alien: Covenant, I would have thought it was possible. Of course, I would have thought Covenant would be the higher grossing film of the two. What a weird box office year it has been as I don't think anyone would have predicted that.

So how many days will it be until WW passes TF5 in the dailies? Will it happen sometime next week? Or will it be when Homecoming opens and kills TF5? -
That race between GotG2 and WW for the Summer 2017 crown is going to be very interesting over the next two months. It's shaping up to be the closest summer finish since 2007 with the third entries in the Spider-Man and Shrek series.

I will never understand how The Boss Baby performed as well as it did. The trailer was pure garbage. The lack of kid-friendly animated competition is the only thing that comes to mind. Maybe I just need to find a balcony seat alongside Statler and Waldorf.
