I found THG much better on a second viewing. A lot of things that at first seem like plot-holes/bad writing actually make sense if you pay attention. I had a similar experience with Inception.

The only advantage Potter flicks hold over THG is the production design. THG is a far superior film overall. You don't have to be a fanboy/fangirl to appreciate it. This is the reason it's exploding.

The best part about THG numbers is that it indeed increased on Saturday (+1,6% ), and Lionsgate is anticipating a huge drop on Sunday, which may not even happen.

I think it's reasonable to assume THG will have a much better Saturday hold than AR. The difference between them could reach 10M over the weekend. -
Hunger Games will end up with a bigger final total than any Twilight film.

Exactly. Titanic was released in 300 theaters on Tuesday.

WOTT shows no sign of frontloadedness so far, doesn't mean it will have good legs though - John Carter also posted solid increase on its first Tuesday.

25% was simply not possible. No major blockbuster increases >10% in its second Tuesday, only smaller movies do.

I don't get people who predict 20%-25% increase for HG on Tuesday. That's just not possible when a film grosses close to 5M in dailies.I think 10% increase would be great. Wednesday drop will be muted too.

It's still much better than Spider Man 3's Monday (3,5M). And SM3 posted 29M weekend.

I don't undertand why 7K for Titanic is considered "wild", but 6K for HG is "underwhelming"?

From the studio's standpoint it will not. Hollywood studios only get to keep like 15% of the grosses in China.

I was talking about opening weekend total. Wrath needs to increase on Saturday to make over 33M, which is not going to happen.

33M seems like a best-case scenario for Wrath. Exactly 5 years ago in 2007 Blades of Glory opened to 12.3M and finished with only 33M.But this is a sequel, I expect it to be much more frontloaded - less than 30M for Wrath.

Remember, HG lost IMAX on Friday. Hopefully, it can recover somewhat over the course of the weekend.

This is a total, absolute joke. It's just 2PM on the West Coast. These numbers will be off by +/- 5M.
