I do think a lot of it comes down to the actual showrunners but I do think they had to stick to specific plot points in books that don't exist yet.
More on topic, the more I look at his stuff the more I think he's a very good choice. Though the question now is the scope of Kangs role.
Edit: oh yeah it's him lol
I have a strong feeling that some of the weird story shifts in the final season are because they're working off cliff notes for the actual upcoming books. Arya being the one to kill the Night King and Bran being king at the end are weird in the show but make more sense if they were on a bullet point list from Martin of "these are the things that are 100 percent going to happen in the book"
There's a new report going around that Colman Domingo is in the running for Kang. I could see him in the role but if they're recasting Kang it seems odd to pivot away from the Kang Dynasty title.
Oh I'd agree Spider-Verse is better, but the Academy famously is...for lack of a better word "casuals" about animation. If Elemental becomes "the one I saw with my kids once" for enough of the membership, its feasible. Unlikely but not impossible.
It's been on there long enough that I feel I can say this has joined the ranks of Bluey, Simpsons, Moana, and Frozen, and Encanto as things that are perpetually at the top end of the trending list on Disney+. For whatever reason this one really connected on there.
I liked the original suit a lot but man I love how just bright red this one is. I didn't hate the more muted magenta-y read of the first but it's just...SO RED!
I think it's far more likely to be shorts or a series than Cars 4. Could also be a regular animated series, like the Moana and Tiana ones that have been in development since basically the service was announced
I really don't think anyone's expecting serious numbers. Theyve been out for years, especially by then. It's basically just so that people who always wanted to see it in theaters specifically get appeased (cough including making Pixar staff happy cough)
Yeah, it's sounding more and more like the animators found out it'd be two parts the same day we did. I wouldn't expect this to be out till, at earliest, late 2026. And even then it might get pushed back if they put Spidey 4 there.
This doesn't track with Loki doing great despite having Majors, as Kang, in it. I really don't think it had any substantial box office impact you're claiming.
Like I've pointed out before, people blamed Majors for Guardians initial tracking, but they can't explain why Majors scandal has no impact on Creed 3, a movie Majors actually has a large role in.
Yeah the Majors thing has been discussed all year, and it kept boiling down to "if he's found guilty they'll probably drop him immediately", and then exactly that happened. Really there's nothing to speculate about with Avengers 5 since the only confirmed cast member just got dropped and they haven't (publicly) gotten a new director either, and it's coming at soonest in 2026 (and, let's face it, as soon as Spidey 4 gets a date everything else is getting delayed anyways since that's happened with literally every single one so far)
It sounds like there were 3:
The ending they used in the movie
The ending that leaked via HOH device subtitle leaks, where they're trapped
A third ending where they're trapped and Kang escapes and MODOK betrays them
