This week a Jurassic Park film broke every box office record ever, a Pixar film is performing at levels they haven't seen in years, and Final Fantasy VII is getting an HD remake.
Inside Out might actually open in the attendance range of Pixar's heyday. Their films from Toy Story 2 through The Incredibles all adjust to openings from $90-95 million.
The hilarity that would ensue if Inside Out ends up having Finding Nemo legs and grossing $450-500 million, effectively bumping AoU to 4th place for the year domestically.
It's too late. Jurassic World proved nostalgia on certain properties is box office steroids, you can bet your ass if Finding Dory breaks out the sequels will keep coming.
So the top two this weekend are going to combine to gross nearly as much (maybe even match) the OW record gross from the weekend before.
