    Actually, I think it is nearly on par with Goodfellas. One of Scorcese's top 5 along with Departed, Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, and Taxi Driver.

    I agree. It may not change filmmaking and the world like Star Wars has but it will seen as a huge success in its own right. I see the Marvel era lasting at least through Phase 3.

    Can someone please extrapolate for me where the $500+m domestic grosses are coming from? I'm looking at Taken 2's 55% dip and ultimate gross and trying to reconcile that with Gravity (which has much better WOM admittedly).

    Are movies like Gravity and Apollo 13 really sci-fi? I know the answer is yes but only because I don't have an alternative sub-genre. When I think of sci-fi I think of aliens.

    I will never forget. It was the 2nd time I saw Phantom Menace. I'm sitting waiting for the movie to start. On my left was a dude apparently jerking off, at least that's what it looked like. To my right was a mentally challenged individual who had a pile of napkins and was compulsively wiping his hands with each of them. It just occurred to me that what I should have done is let the guy on my left use some of those napkins. Fortunately both gentlemen stopped what they were doing before the movie got going.

    From what I'm hearing, I think I'm done with Homeland. I barely got through Season 2. I can only take but so much of Carrie.
