So it looks like the Shallows is on it's way to becoming one of Blake Lively's highest grossing solo-led films. A year after Age of Adeline exceeded expectations, it seems like she's on a bit of a roll. Her next film is Woody Allen's Cafe Society, which i don't expect to be huge, probably around 15-20m that seems to be the average for Woody Allen summer films. The one after that is "All I See is You' costarring Jason Clarke which is another thriller about a blind woman that could do 40-45m as well if it gets picked up by a good studio and good release date.

It wasn't great or anything, but i enjoyed myself. The seagull was cute and Lively carried the film well.

I think Sausage Party was made for 35-40m, so 15-20m would be a good opening for it.

Almost everything this summer has under-performed. I'm more convinced that Suicide Squad is going to be the third and last 300m+ film of the summer.

As long as they keep the budget reasonable like Angry Birds (70m), then this should make a nice tidy profit. Emojis are a little bit more current.

I won't feel bad for you when that prediction totally flops.

They are throwing their Hunger Games money down the drain.

So sad. The cast will be a mess on the press tour.

I suspect this is going to open like the last Lively film. Maybe a little bit higher: 15-16m OW A finish around 46-47m seems plausible.

The reality is CI doesn't look all that different from Ride Along. The fact that it's opening is on par against Dory is a good thing. Hart has probably peaked but atleast hes consistent. Studios can green light a 30-40m hart comedy and almost always guarantee their money back on the first weekend. Johnson is more of a draw overseas, so I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the highest grossing Hart film overseas.

Well it's partly the industry's fault for letting it get like this.

I think it could definitely hit that number too. I didn't realize how beloved the original movie was until i saw the trailer views, thats why i have it number two for the year above GOTG 2.

I just noticed that Disney could have the top 3 films again next year. 1) Star Wars: Episode 8 2) Beauty and the Beast 3) Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Probably, the only films that could challenge that top 3 would be Spider-Man: Homecoming, Despicable Me 3, or Deadpool 2(if it comes out)

Maybe, it just depends on legs.

This is going to be the next big live-action remake.

So will NBA finals affect how high Finding Dory/Central Intelligence goes?

Angry Birds finally passed the mark today.

Conjuring 2 really helped.

I think its going to make more than 25m domestic. It's the last one of the series.

i doubt Warcraft is. It went from 30m estimate to barely beating NYSM 2. Probably will have the biggest drop of the top 10 next weekend.

Between Me Before You, Conjuring 2 and Central Intelligence, WB is going to have a good month.
