  3. The Top 10 Comic Book Movies ranked by the Boxoffice.com forums: #10 (WTF!?) _____ What makes a good comic book movie to you? Goffe - a developed and interesting villain Walt Disney - A good comic book movie has a strong superhero, a strong villain, is colorful like the comics, stays true to the spirit of the comics, is packed with comedy and action, has an epic Score with great theme music, and ends with the superhero suiting up and defeating the villain. It may seem like a lot of elements, but it’s a simple formula that can be repeated for a great comic book movie every time. _____ #9 (Voted as one of the top 20 worst movies earlier this year on BO forums) #8 (This actually went down a rank somehow) _____ What makes a good comic book movie to you? AA - Filmmakers not taking the subject seriously. Chasmmi - The Most important thing is the Character. It doesn't neccessarily have to be exactly true to the source material, but without a developed rounded character lead, a comic book movie is just a lot of explosions and flashy graphics. _____ #7 (Started it all for The Avengers!) #6 (Glad people remember this classic!) _____ What makes a good comic book movie to you? rukaio101 - A good comic book movie is a movie based on a comic book which is also good. There's no particular rules a comic book movie needs to follow that a regular movie shouldn't also follow. Punishment - Special effects followed closely by the story. Steve Rogers - The same thing is any other movie, really. How well the script works, the direction, the acting, the cinematography, etc. I don't really hold comic book adaptations to a different standard. _____ #5 (Possibly the best movie in the entire series) #4 (Let the trolling begin!) _____ What makes a good comicbook movie to you? Simionski - I think that the story is the key factor, if it resonates with me I don’t mind the minor flaws and am able to enjoy the movie at its best. Frozen2014 - interesting Blankments - Story is key when it comes to movies in general, and it means even more for comic book movies. Without a good story, there is no point at all. Druv10 - The story, action, score, staying true to the comics and good balance of action and story. _____ #3 (Possibly the best origin story!) The Avengers (2012) [N/C 187 Points] http://youtu.be/xemvuM-uav0 Marvel's The Avengers (classified under the name Marvel Avengers Assemble in the UK and Ireland),or simply The Avengers, is a 2012 American superhero filmproduced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast including Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson. In the film, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Captain America, theHulk, and Thor to form a team that must stop Thor's adoptive brother Loki from subjugating Earth. Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92% (With a script that never forgets its heroes' humanity and no shortage of superpowered set pieces, The Avengers lives up to its hype -- and raises the bar for Marvel at the movies.) Metacritic - 69 AA: - Had an epic feel with so many star superheroes in one movie -Jam packed with action Punishment: - The perfect comic book adaptation for me. The interaction among the characters was witty and the high octane action kept me coming back for more. Blankments: a. The funniest superhero movie. The script is great in this regard. b. You can actually follow the action, which feels like a comic book come to life. _____ What makes a good comic book movie to you? B J - Movie must stay as true to the character as possible within the confines of the story. the Protagonist(s) and Antagonist(s) must be the driving force of the story Omario - A good portrayal of the drive of the character.what makes him put on a suit and become a hero. A great villain, maybe even greater than the hero. to show a hero fight against a greater power...and against all odds come out the victor. That is what the audience wishes to see. What sacrifices are made by the hero to achieve victory. cory - Momentum, viscerality and electricity. When things happen, I want them to pop. _____ #1 (Of course. No change here and possibly won't ever be) 1. The Dark Knight 250 Points 2. The Avengers 187 Points 3. Batman Begins 183 Points 4. The Dark Knight Rises 116 Points 5. X-Men 2: X-Men United 112 Points 6. Spider-Man 2 106 Points 7. Iron Man 94 Points 8. Batman 76 Points 9. Batman Returns 69 Points 10. Scott Pilgrim vs The World 65 Points 11. Spider-Man 63 Points 12. Old Boy 60 Points 12. Sin City 60 Points 14. Superman 58 Points 15. Man Of Steel 57 Points 16. V for Vendetta 55 Points 17. X-Men First Class 45 Points 18. Men in Black 41 Points 19. History of Violence 41 Points 20. Superman 2 36 Points
