Anyways, I think I’ll have to agree with @Lor San Tele, Darkest Hour is pretty great.

I was definitely the only person under 50 in the theater. I took my dad, who’s in his mid 50s, and he was probably the second youngest.
-
It actually makes a great companion piece to Dunkirk. You could watch one and then go and watch the other right after and they’d fit together perfectly.

So, I saw Darkest Hour...

I’m definitely the only person under 50 in my sold out darkest hour showing, no wonder tele liked it so much.

2017 100M Films - 33 down, 3 to go! (Pitchslapped!)

It fits the narrative that people are using cinemas for the big movies they want to see and simply streaming the smaller scale stuff. -
I’m almost ready for the Bamboo Awards! Going to do my reveals on the 29th (and maybe bleed into the 30th if I’m slow) My winner has been the Boffy winner (and it’s never been the Oscar winner) for the last two years, so I’d say I’m the biggest precursor for the Boffys and a great precursor for what won’t win the oscars!

Episode 9’s plot has been leaked!!

Looking at 2018, since this year will likely miss the record Locked Strong Possibility Potential Longshot Possibility? There's 24 Strong Possibilities and Locks, that means we'd need 10 movies from the Longshots and Potential categories to tied the record (11 to break the record). I reckon it ends up looking something like this, if it breaks the record -
I googled “Is Rey a Binks?” And my top result said “Do you need emotional support? Consult with our 24/7 therapist today!”

Depends on the movie and it depends on if the audience is reacting appropriately to the movie. Something like Star Wars works really well with a crowd.

This movie could actually be about Force Ghost Kenobi, and his shenanakins between episode 6 and 7!

The Shape of Water (2017)

Yeah, I don’t think they had a camera in the fish room, and it’s not really explained. I just suspended my belief and thought “well it’s so secret they don’t even want it on camera”. As for the movie, I really enjoyed it. It was a sweet love story, and it had an endearing message of loneliness, status and embracing the differences of others. Beautiful cinematography mixed with a gorgeous score from Desplat leads to a movie that almost feels like a song. Sally Hawkins is a marvel in this movie, you could tell exactly what the character was thinking at every moment. Probably the best female lead performance of the year, but I’ll have to think on that (McDormand and Ronan are also powerhouses). The supporting cast is also great, Spencer is a solid presence, Jenkins has quite a fun character, and Shannon chews it up with his villainy. Overall, I really enjoyed the whole thing, even if you have to suspend your disbelief at a few points. A-
